FM receiver on nuvii 660 and bluetooth pairing.

I just received my 660 and am wondering how I get the free trial for the FM traffic feature. Also I am unable to pair my LG VX 8100 cell phone with the 660 bluetooth. Anyone have any suggestions. Do I need a microphone to use the bluetooth feature on the 660 to do handsfree?

.

Once you plug the Traffic Receiver in, it automatically starts receiving traffic information.

People have reported difficulty in pairing that phone with Garmin GPS units. Be sure that you enable the Bluetooth on the nuvi and then let the phone "find" the nuvi instead of the other way around. If it doesn't work, you might check with your provider to see if the Bluetooth version on the phone can be updated. Otherwise, you might need to get a different phone.

The microphone is built to the nuvi, but you might find that you need to move the unit closer to you if people have difficult hearing you.

There is a microphone port on the mount for the 660 - you can, if desired, plug in a microphone for the hands-free bluetooth. Garmin sells one, and there are bunches of others that will work. I found that a generic ear-bud 'headset' works - obviously, the earbud does not function, but the mic works with the hands-free.

I use the audio out and have it plugged into my audio aux on my stereo. That way I can hear the caller (or any of my audio books) through the stereo and just use the built in mic to speak. So far it's been working fine.

As for pairing via bluetooth, haven't had any problem with the pairing. I've paired it with a treo 650 and a razr, and if either of them are in the car, the Nuvi will automatically answer the call.
