Were can I get a collection of nice Nuvi 660 splash screens? I getso tired of turning on my 660 and seeing that boring screen. Can you add info on some of those?
add your JPEGs
You can load JPEG pictures directly into your unit. I have my daughter's picture as my splash screen.

Hi Thurman,
If you have an application that let's you create .jpg's (like Photoshop) you can create your own splash screens.
Create a document 480 pixels in width and 272 pixels in height and put anything you want on it.
If you don't have the capability to create a .jpg, contact me through the site and I'd be happy to create one or more for you.

Some VW splash screens
Here's a link to some Volkswagen nuvi splash screens I made. They are for any of the wide-screen nuvis. One is just the VW logo on a black background, the other has the VW and Garmin logos together on a black background.

I tried making a Honda logo splash screen, but couldn't get a clean enough Honda Logo to start with. I should try that again.

Be aware that if you change the splash screen you can not get it back since you are erasing it from memory when you load another screen. You can get a lower resolution file to replace that image from either the forums or Garmin but most say including me it isn't as good.

I just added my splash screens to the JPEG folder on the nuvi. I did not change or lose the original splash screen. You can change the screen at any time through the settings preferences.

I thought when I reloaded the standard blue Garmin screen it did not seem as crisp

Honda Splash Screen
Hey guys,
I just put together a Honda splash screen for my nuvi 660. I used a honda one I had when I owned my tomtom and I added a garmin logo to it with a powered by Garmin at the bottom right. The problem is I don't know how to attach it here for others to use and enjoy
any idea? maybe we need some section on the website to upload splash screens like mp3 and icons, just an idea

I'm likely going to purchase the 760 (maybe even today
). I'll probably make my own splash screen that includes my ownership details and offers a reward if found. I have a startup screen like that on my hand held unit as well.

i'm still hoping there was some way to manipulate the blue background screen on the nuvi 660 (where to, view map, etc)..
that part of the nuvi could use some life. i talked about this on another thread but if somehow someone found a way to alter that.. let me know!

Obviously, the splash screen can and has been changed by many users (including myself), but I've never seen a way to change any of what I'll call the "internal" screens, background color, layout or anything like that.
