Garmin talk

I just got my 650 and I'm really diggin it but I want to hook it up to my car stereo so I can have it broadcast through the car speakers rather than the Nuvi speakers. I've tried the FM transmitter thing with other products and I'm not going to even try that route.

New to gps. I dowloaded the rest areas poi file together with icon and mp3 file. Also dowloaded the airports poi file. Transfered both to Nuvi 660. While I now see the airport location icons I don't see any rest area icons unless I navigate to one of them, then I see it. Any suggestions much appreciated.

I had some national park poi downloaded ok then I downloaded blue ridge parkway and I dont have my
other sections or downloads.

When downloading do you always check gpx with garmin
extenstion?

What do I do to correct this situation?

is it possible to get maps of europe for the nuvi 660 without paying the big price.??

When I do the conversion to say GPX the lat/lon signs come out backwards. For instance -80 lon and 28 lat converts to S80 and E28.
POI loader makes the conversion correctly, but Bable mixes things up.
I am trying to convert to something that Mapsource can open but I have had no sucess so far.
Any help would be apreciated.

When I am in "map mode" I can see many cemeteries. However, I can't find a way to get them into a list box (like I can for hospitals, food, and so on). I don't even find them (the ones I have looked for) when I do a name search. I have looked in "community," where I thought they would be, and not found them.

On my Nuvi 200w after i got to looking around, pushing on the the left corner on the speedodometer/ trip screen for 10 seconds, the total time runs. Not sure if this is normal or not.
can someone tell me if it is?

and if not normal how do I stop it?

Is there a way to see your present longitude/ latitude with a garmin C430?

On my Nüvi, I try to delete all my favorites in one shot instead of deleting them one by one.

First I delete the "current.gpx" file in the nüvi, under the gpx folder. When I power up the gps, the favorites were back, and the "current.gpx" file also.

I was wondering if you were interested in carrying TourGuide files here (or maybe you are and I'm just missing them)? I have a completed one for the Amtrak California Zephyr route. It is set up with voice prompts to announce upcoming stations when you are approximately 2 miles out. I just returned from a trip between Sacramento and Denver and it worked like a charm.

As stated in a previous post I recently purchased the C330. I'm considering dropping it for the Nuvi 260 but need more info on this second unit. Does anyone know if the Nuvi comes with a 2008 map?

I just bought the Garmin c330 on Black Friday and am not surprised that the map is out of date. After reading some other posts on here it seems it may be possible to get a free update from Garmin if I am persistent enough. Question is, will this update POI's as well?

Having difficulty loading POI Files via POI Loader to SD Drive. The Drive is recognized as the Removable G:/ Drive via POI Loader. POI Loader recognizes the CSV files in my download directory. I set the range parameters via Manual load. POI Loader then starts loading and finishes, but when I view either the Garmin or Windows Removable G:/ directory, the files are not there?

So if you could get the 350 or the 650 new same price which would you buy if you already own a 350 and are looking for a second one for the wife? Thoughts?

I just was wondering since I carry my unit with me when I am out of the car is there a cheaper alternative than buying the garmin case that says take me with the logo on the outside?

Also I was wondering if its ok to use Office Depot
screen cleaner for my screen or the walgreens eyeglass
cleaner that you can carry in your pocket.

How do you set up a route on the 650? We have an older Magellan handheld GPS which allowed routes to be designed on the PC and uploaded to the GPS. I know you can't do this with the 650...so how do you set up a route? I have read and re-read the instructions and just can't figure it out! HELP! Thanks in advance for any help.

This may have been discussed before but I can't find it. I've got a new Nuvi200w and was wondering how/if I can download a track file to overlay on a map.

I'm impressed with the unit so far. Thoroughly UN-impressed with the lack of documentation from Garmin and having to figure out how the darned thing works on my own. Lucky for me I'm a dork enough to try.

I have a quesion about the Zip Code POI.... I downloaded POI file to the Nuvi but It does not show up in my Nuvi POI listings.... So were do I find the Zip codes?

I have owned a c330 gamin for a year or so. I hooked my garmin up to my computer and went to the Gamin site and checked to see if my gamin was updatable. Their site said that it was. So I went to circuit city and bought the 2008 map updates and it says right on the software that c330 will work. I am now trying to update and it says that I don't have enough memory to update it.

I was rather disappointed in my garmin nuvi 200 today. I was out of town and had to find a store and found it listed in the POI, but when I navigated to it, Garmin placed me in the middle of a residential neighborhood 7 miles away from the destination.
