garmin nuvi 260

rolleyes

Hi newbie to GPS

Have a couple of questions possibly some of them are stupid.
However will never know if i dont ask.

Is there a garmin nuvi 260 manual anywhere most of it is pretty straight forward but be nice to see any hidden stuff i dont know of as yet.

Also is there any software i could use to track where i have been basically i am going on vacation and would like to keep a record of the roads i have travelled and keep a record of it on an electronic map if possible?

Going to scotland and it be great to tie the map in with the photos as a reminder where we took the photos.

And nuvi has no mp3 capability 260 that is. How do you set up alerts to notify of upcoming store or lights?

Thanks in advance

No real manual, you can

No real manual, you can download a starter one, but the best thing to do is a search on here for the nuvi.

the nuvi 7xx can do tracking, but no other models can

You can only have "bing" as the alert, no real voice alerts.

.

1. There's nothing but the (somewhat limited) quick start guide for the 2xx series. Plenty of people here can answer your questions, though.

2. The nuvi 2xx series does not currently support tracks.

3. You can mark a Favorite where you take the pictures and then download the Favorites to MapSource or EasyGPS when you get back.

4. Although you can't use the Custom Alerts without an MP3 player on the unit, you can set up alerts on your POIs by running POI Loader in Manual Mode and the default tone will sound plus you will get a visual alert on the screen.

Garmin.com

All the Nuvi manuals are available at the Garmin site. They are in PDF format, and can be downloaded. Some of the Nuvis have the manual in the memory, and it can be accessed when you hook it to your computer. I hope this helps.
You can also find out Anything you would ever want to know about your Nuvi by reading this site..

there were no replies when I started...Well I went to the Garmin site and you must have the newest nuvi to date..No manual at all there. But what I see you are looking for maybe you need to look for a 650-750....keep reading...
