How does one un-install a MapSource product other then the built-in one from a Nuvi 7xx?

Just want to let everyone know software version 4.30 just came out now. Didn't mention anything about fixing the problem of alert while playing mp3. Will try it out tomorrow anyway and report back.

Hi I am new to GPS and have a Garmin Nuvi 760 and wish to download some files on a sd card. I was able to down load 1 example tim horton and it worked okey. When I went to down load a second file the first file was erased on the sd card. How can i put several files on the sd card?

I have seen many people have problems with the internal batteries on Garmin units after they fully discharge. Does anyone know if the units will work at all if the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore? Anyone have experience with this out there?

is there a way when you start up the c330 to keep the splash screen on instead of going through its normal routine? im only asking this for when im not using it during the day.i only use it 3-4 hours a day at work.i think it would be better than turning it on and off all the time.

Did I not read on some posting here that if you have the Lat. & logitude you can set up a custom POI with ease?

If so, how is this accomplished please

I store all my custom POI's on the SD card and choose not to transfer them to the unit. When I select a Favorite POI from the SD card I never hear the MP3 sound which has the same name as the POI nor when I'm enroute I don't see any of the other custom Icons that are on the card and when I get to the destination I just see the flag.

Is it possible to replace the startup warning screen with the owner's name and contact info?

I get varying results at intersections with my nuvi 750 version 2.50. On some I get a siren and others no siren. On many I get multiple alerts which seem to be speed related. On one I got an alter after passing through the intersection.

I would hope that one would get a single consistent alert for a intersection, but apparently not.

Thoughts?

I was reading a discussion about the various routing options the Magellan has, compared to the Garmin Nuvi. Although the Nuvi has the same (and more routing options) than the Magellan, setting the equivalent Magellan routing on the Nuvi is not very obvious. Here is how I compiled them.

Magellan: Shortest time

I've read posts where the complaint is that the Nuvi does not show the distance (remaining) to the destination and the time (remaining) to destination. I discovered that you can see this on the Nuvi 200, and probably applies to other Nuvi's too. Of course, it takes a few key presses to get this information unlike the competition.

1. Set a destination you want to go to and hit GO.

splash screen 330,ive tried to load a new pic following the node i was told too and all i ended up with is a start and splash screen of the same thing i have ximage downloaded and changed the pix size and changed it to bmp file and it wont got to the gps,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is easy to get frustrated when you go deep into the different sub menus on the Nuvi then try to get back to the "Main Menu" page. One has to press the "Back" key over and over until the "Main Menu" is finally reached.
Solution:
When you are done what you are doing in the sub-menus, press and hold the "Back" key for 1 to 2 seconds, it will take you straight back to the "Main Menu".

Hi Everyone,

My owners manual says that I should have the antenna for my nuvi 660 parallel to the ground but would it not reason that I would get better reception if it was straight up and down in the truck? Maybe this is a stupid question but what the heck, you don't ask you don't get. (LOL)

If you are adding custom POIs can you setup the alerts to only pop up for some of them?

I have a 650 and 750 and I only see a choice to turn on or off alerts for customs POIs. I don't want alerts for most of them but it would be nice to have them in the unit in case I need them. On the other hand I would want them for red-light cameras.

ok, i have a kinda dumb question :

when i go on a long trip and want to load poi's, do i have to make one big file or can i load the different files ?

Nuvi 760 keeps prompting me to load custom POIs from SD card onto the internal memory. I think I've read somewhere that one can choose "do not ask anymore". For the life of me, I can't seem to locate that button. Can someone please help.
