260W built in camera

I have a 260W and have discovered that it has a built in camera feature. Anyone know the purpose of it? Thanks,

Camera feature on 260w also

I have 260w as well, and had a 200 before. Both have camera feature.
I am curious too, does anyone know why a camera feature is needed, and has anyone actually needed, or used it?

Screenshot?

Could you be referring to the ability to capture a screenshot? Or, is this "feature" an actual input port for a rearview camera? I guess what I'm asking is what is the evidence of this feature?

260W camera feature

I did a little checking and the feature in the GPS allows to take a screen shot. To locate the camera feature, go to Tool/settings/display/screen shot. That then shows a small camera that will take a screen shot of that page you are viewing. Then, to retrieve that screen shot, connect your GPS to a computer and go to the Garmin drive. Open the Garmin drive and select the scrn folder and you will find the screen shots. Maybe this is used to show Garmin support problems with a map or GPS unit. I guess I solved my question. Thanks.

I would think it would be used to get a hard copy of a map to give to someone that does not have a GPS and needs directions.

.

It's useful for showing other users what you may be seeing on your screen or showing tech support what you are seeing or documenting an issue.

otherwise, I find it totally

otherwise, I find it totally useless and it takes up room on the screen.

Well, that's why you only have it active when you are using it. Then it resets to being off.
