Garmin talk

I recently downloaded a custom poi and put on my GPS Garmin StreetPilot C550. I did the manual input and had download the sound for golf courses. When I used my GPS to go to the golf course all I get is a double bell and not a voice stating " approaching a golf course ". Is there anything I forgot to do? The sound for the golf course is in the same file as the golf course.

I have a nuvi 260,I downloaded the city Nav 2009 software on it, and now all I have id PA, NY, and Maryland. When you click on the wrench, go to maps, and hit map info it tells you that the software version is 2009, but instaed of saying all at the bottom mine just says PA.

How do I change the # I listed for my Garmen in my profile.?

Just came back from Florida with my new nuvi 750 travel ling up I95 to Baltimore. As I was approaching Richmond VA. my 750 told me to take I295, which I, of course, did. It took me around Richmond and back onto I95 just north of the city.

Nuvi 350 has the capability of adopting supplementary maps on SD card, according to the menu. Since I bought the unit recently, I've been trying to find ways to make Adirondacks trails maps, but no avail so far. If you have tried and succeeded, would you mind sharing? thanks in advance.

I sent Mapquest directions to my Nuvi760 and now I can't find it anywhere. I checked Favorites, Routes, recently found.ect. To varify that is was sent I sent it again in Waypoint format and in Route format. I even saved it to 2 locations, my Nuvi and my Nuvi card. I still can't find it. I do see the gpx file on my card so I assume it is also in my Nuvi.

With all the stories of GPS theft, I'd like to move my unit off the windshield.
Does anyone have a method to gently remove the residual ring from the windshield. I'd like to remove it, but I don't want to cause any damage to the windshield in the process.

Ive seen posts of the speed limit showing on traveled
road with 2009 map update.Does this show up on all models? And how would it be installed?
Menu or an orther way?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will the MapSource application be installed on my PC when I run the 2009 Map Update, or do I need to install it separately?

I was thinking about starting a small business involving putting POIs on gps systems and selling them to tourist areas. Does anyone know an easy site to create and load custom pois?

When I create the files can I load them into an easily accessible file that the tourist can open and search for pois?

I've got my RT-66 trip planned with 90 POIs in a TourGuide. I've also used a number of H-D location POIs. I used the Garmin MapSource to make 30 daily routes. I've loaded the TourGuide and POIs as Waypoints to use making these routes.

Is there anyway to make a poi file or something that will give a speed alert for the hole highway that you are on if you exceed the speed limit and not just the poi location but the complete road?

I though that I had read something about this on the site before. I've tried looking on the site but didn't come up with anything.

Hi all, I recently installed a POI set for I-95 speed traps from this site. I also downloaded the mp3 file to go along with it. I used Garmin's utility to load the poi, and I put the MP3 in the same folder as the poi's to be uploaded, named it appropriately, used the utility correctly, but I have no sound when I have an alert.

Recieved the StreetPilot c330 for Christmas 07'. I was wondering if bike routes could added to it, and used on the trails as I ride, instead of buying a new unit for $$$$$. I was also wondering why POI's don't show up while I'm driving, and only when I brouse the map.

I have a Nuvi 350 which has a head phone jack. Has anyone ever connected this audio output to their auto radio? I suspect this is frequently done.

My car radio does not have a front panel audio input but I suspect it has one on the back of the unit although I have not had the unit out of the car, which is a 2004 Ford Explorer. Any thoughts?

Hello. Need a little help if I can. Have a 760 and had 2.9. For some reason, it froze. Someone said to try to reboot, which I think I did. Now, Webupdater doesn't seem to work on it. When I hook up the 760 to the computer with USB, the line doesn't go across the screen of the 760. Any words of wisdom?

I have a nuvi 660 software version 4.40. After I load my custom poi's should they show up when I power up and then click View Map, or do I have to go to extras>custom poi's>map to see them, or is something wrong with my nuvi

I have a garmin c 530 , some how i have files in my extras and i want to get rir of them a have a sd card for custum poi files is where the files should go i want them on my card please help

Unfortunately, my wife left my c340 "on" for about 6 hours while she was at work.

It was not plugged into the car-charger, and now the unit appears "dead." Even when plugged into the charger, the USB cable on my pc, or in the car with the car charger cable, the GPS is not coming on.

Ok so I have been looking all over and I haven't found a way to make my own proximity alert file easily. I have a VERY accurate list of speed cameras both mobile and affixed in my area and I need to make a file so my gps will remind me where they are. What is the easiest way to take this information and have it on my garmin 650? I find it annoying that we can not enter this into the gps manually.
