My low battery alert activates way too often, is there a way to adjust this

Is there anyway I can view my speed on the 660 while the map is showing, like the 760

If this has been discussed before, I'm sorry. I couldn't find a topic on it.

When you're actually having a Garmin simulate a route is there any way to speed it up? Trying to see what's going on during a long route is kinda tough when it's only simulating 35 mph or so.

Says theirs a lifetime subcription and notice on the Garmin website it allows activation but need a code to activate.I'm I missing something or is it nothing

I have read the faqs and posts but can't seem to find an answer.

When I load a POI file it is placed into the "Custom POIs" in "My Locations."

Is there a way to create a new category in the "Where To" section? I have "Food, Attractions, Shopping..." Can I make a new category called "Wifi?"

How could I do this?

Purchase a GPS on the spur of the moment thing and was amazed on what i've been missing out on.I was just wondering how other GPS systems rate compared to Garmin models.

I was in Seattle last week, knew I was within 1/2 mile of REI, went to the C580 built-in Shopping POI, selected All, and entered REI. To my surprise, the flagship REI store was not found! I had to stop and get directions. Yikes! Once I arrived at the store, tried the same search again, thinking I must have made a mistake. Still nothing.

I was thinking about switching from my current 680 to the newer 760, just wanted to ask the community at large if there are any problems with firmware or other issues that I should be aware of before switching out my 680 for the 760?

After loading all my custom POI's I started checking them only to find out the interface is very different. When you touch a specific POI the opening screen only has the Name of the POI and no other info, along the bottom there is a "More" button when you push it you get two copies of the address and phone number which is not dialable even on GPX files.

Well I did it last night, I purchased the LIFETIME Traffic renewal for my Nuvi 660. I ran into some problems inputting the new code that they sent me, and I thought I was going to have to call Garmin to rectify the matter however, after rebooting the unit and allowing it to communicate with the traffic reciever for a couple of minutes, I was able to successfully input my new traffic code.

How can I edit text on my Garmin Nuvi 260?

I just got a Garmin Nuvi 205. I had a garmin etrex that i bought in 2003 and I have been amazed at how accurate it is. Does anybody have any recommendations on whether or not it would be good to take this hiking with me (keeping it safe). will it pick up well in the deep woods, etc...

I like to view the pictures on my trail cam with my Garmin NUVI 200w. It’s really easy and doesn't take as long time like it does to view them on my blackberry. My question is, can you copy the pictures from the SD card onto my Garmin? Thanks

I am new to the 770 and want to get the most out of its capabilities. I have a degree in Computer Information Technology and am very savvy with programming, etc. I can see myself working on some projects for my own use and sharing with others.

Without having to read through all 196 pages of discussions on the forum, I'd like to ask a question -

I have a new Nuvi 650, and have installed a couple of custom poi's from this site. One of them being White Castle, however when I search for the White Castle near my home, it does not show up. I viewed the location on my extras-custom poi's and it does show in the custom poi file, but the nuvi does not show this location when I do a search for it.

When I leave my house, the 760 always wants to take me a different way. It wants to go 3 miles West or 6 miles East to get to either a Tollroad or a major highway running North/South. The quickest way is to get on a street next to my house go straight South to a Major Interstate that runs between the two above listed roads.

I have searched the forums and didn't come up with my question so: Does the 760 have the capability of proposing different routes to a location? If so, how do I program it?

Just heard on the news yesterday that Az is going to start enforce the law, that if your license plate has a frame and it covers the state you will get pulled over and sited. It's always been the law but now they are enforcing it.
Kinda funny since we are getting all these speed and redlight cameras. Fines will be over $100.00 and They will start enforcing January 2009.
