Garmin talk

I just got back from a trip to Vancouver for a car show. I use my old Garmin 330 since it isn't a big loss if it got too wet or stolen. It mounts on the window of the Lotus that is pictured in my avatar.

Garmin has announced what should be the lowest priced Nuvi yet, a Nuvi 1100. It looks basically like a 1200 without TTS. Details can be found at:

one day my fiance used my garmin and said it was workin fine the next day i jump in my jeep try and turn it on and it started up said it was loadin the maps then just shut off and continued to do that i brought it inside to hook it up to the computer and now it starts up and has a status bar and it only loads about 1/4 of the way then shuts back off im new to the area that im in and i really neede

I have a new Garmin nuvi 500 and I downloaded their poi loader. I selected on this site the 'rest areas'. The file downloaded to my computer with the ext .cvs. I pointed the poi loader to where the file was, but it wouldn't recognize the file even with the ext .cvs on it. I have closed the application and restarted and tried again but no luck. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

I currently use Tourguide alerts in order to let me know when I am in the radius of my custom POIS. I have noticed that this works well for letting me know when I get within a specified distance. On the other hand, once I begin to travel past and away from the POI, the alert stays on the screen for a distance much greater than what I have set.

I need some help with the TourGuide feature. I also noticed throughout this forum, other 750 users have reported the same problem, so maybe it can not be done.

No matter what I try, I am unable to get the proximity alert to trigger using a TourGuide alert.

I have a Garmin 265T that I have noticed that when I have it on Map View driving into Vancouver B.C. on Hyw.1 there is a rest area around Langley that shows on the top of my screen when I drive past it. But if I put a address in the GPS and drive the same route the rest area does not show up. Why?

Whenever I plug my Nuvi 750 into my computer and try to load MP3s onto the SD card (which shows as a removable device alongside my Garmin) it doesn't let me format it. I get some error message "Windows was unable to format" whenever I try; I have the latest firmware for my Garmin.

Complete the form by selecting Mobile Electronics in the first box, Automotive in the second and your Nuvi or Streetpilot model from the list in the third.

my freind has a nuvi 7 series ,he bought the 2010 upgrade cd and tried to install it.it he said it erased the previous version and started to install the new version and it made it to 12% then didnt go anymore.now he says thee re is no map data on his unit.does it have to be shipped to garmin or is there a master reset to get the old version back.thanks for you input!no,i dont think he backed it u

Hello all, Tom here. Is there any way i can download from this site and have it on my maps as i'm driving and it will show it as i am passing it. If so what folder do i have to download it to.

Has anyone been able to reach Garmin Customer Support lately? I've been trying for a week now, each time hanging up after being on hold for over an hour. Worst part is my Nuvi is dead in the water. It won't even turn on. And it's only about 45 days old.

Here's a question for you. Recently, I saved a location to my 855 and wanted to add the business name which includes an apostrophe. Very odd-- as far as I can tell, my 855 inventory of punctuation marks includes only a hyphen. My 750, on the other hand, has a full inventory of every punctuation mark I could desire.

I purchased a Nuvi 205w in europe and just downloaded North America map to an SD card......how do i get it to work or load or whatever.......i'm lost!!

I have a Nuvi 765. The power/traffic cable is loose in the socket on the bracket. It keeps loosing power from the lighter so I have to keep telling it to stay on. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't understand how this happened since we never unplug it from the GPS bracket.
