nuvi 500 poi loader

I have a new Garmin nuvi 500 and I downloaded their poi loader. I selected on this site the 'rest areas'. The file downloaded to my computer with the ext .cvs. I pointed the poi loader to where the file was, but it wouldn't recognize the file even with the ext .cvs on it. I have closed the application and restarted and tried again but no luck. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

When your get more files ..
Point POI Loader to the folder the .csv file is in, not to the file.
When your get more files, the above comment will be obvious. The suggestion is to create a directory - say "C:\MyPOIs" into which you will place all the POI files you download.
Right now, you should also make sure that you have allowed your computer to show "extensions". If not, from an explorer window, click on the Menu option "Tools", then click on "Folder Options", then click on "View". Make sure that the box for "Hide extensions for known file types" is NOT checked. While you are there it is also wise to select the radio button "Show hidden files and folders". Finally click "Ok" at the bottom of the dialog box.
