I want to delete one of my POI files. Most of them have names I recognize, the one that is the "oddball" (D7378080A.gpi) is the one I think I want to get rid of. There are also file(s) with similar names but different extension.(D7378080A.gma D7378080A.unl). Can I delete all??

Anyone else get this message: "Device will restart in X seconds to reload map data." After procrastinating for the last year, several weeks ago I finally updated to map version NA 2022.20. Ever since, I get the "restart" message during the startup from the powered down state.

Ran into some issues when updating POIs on my trusty nuvi 765.

Previously, when I connected the 765 to my Win 10 machine, a new Explorer window would pop up for both the 765 and the SD card. That didn't happen this time. I opened a new Explorer window and both the 765 and the SD card are there and I can browse the directories of both.

I remember quite some time ago finding that the various websites offering custom Garmin vehicles and gone defunct and figured that was the end of them.

I recently upgraded to a newer Garmin Nuvi from one I had bought over 10 years ago. All my custom POI files from this site loaded into it no problem. However, the Publix file no longer offers the "Go" green button screen anymore when I punch in an individual Publix location. This appears to be the only file that this is happening to. Do any of you tech heads here know why this is happening now.

Garmin Express for my Nuvi 40LM tried to update maps but told not enough room so I went to Walmart, bought and installed a San Disk 32gb micro SD card (<$10.00). I never even knew I could install a card or noticed the card slot.
I am not sure why else I would even need an SD card

I am fairly new to this activity. My question is, how do I get the icons and sound files to happen when using POI files? I hope I am asking in a way that makes sense! This is related to a Garmin Smart Drive 65 with Alexa!

The old honda accord had a nice dedicated shelf where I should stick the gps mount.

Picked up a kia stinger recently. Not too many places to mount the garmin (ds65).

every time i plan route on the Harley ride planner and save it to my gps file it gets screwed up in garmin base camp. anyone else have this issue? and how do you fix it?

The most under rated feature in my opinion is traffic by lane. It doesn’t happen often but when the Garmin tells me which lane has heavy traffic and which doesn’t it’s golden. I took a picture of it yesterday since it’s not common for it to show. I posted a link on Reddit to see if Waze had something similar but it looks like it does not.

I used my Drivesmart 61LMT for a long drive after long time. Due to COVID-19, we did not go anywhere and stayed in town. Finally we decided to get out of town and we drove to Sudbury Ontario from Toronto. It is about four hours drive and straight forward drive. Here is list of issues we experienced with Garmin device:

there's a feature of the Nuvi 2595 that I love, it comes back on where it was when I turned off the power to it.
I have a few others that start up at the welcome screen every time and I have to navigate to the map or speed window every time I start up. A little difficult with motorcycle gloves on.

Are there any newer ones that do what my 2595 does??

I've been using POI loader for quite some time and today when I was trying to update my RLC and Speed camera POI I got an error message that POI loader could not convert the correct.wav files for RLC and SC.

Never had that happen before. Any idea what's wrong

This is interesting. If the change happens, Garmin may come out with a better Garmin RINO.

My 660 finally failed after 13+ years!

Got half of the 2022.20 map into the 660 and went to install the other half and MapInstall didn't recognize it anymore.

Did a Master Reset and installed the latest Garmin USB drivers and rebooted PC. To no avail. Neither MapInstall nor GE could find the 660 any more. My 3597 was recognized though.

edit, I;ve been on this site for 13 some odd years and ask just once for help but I get attitude and accusation of something that I do not even understand............
