Garmin talk

City Navigator 2013.20 North America must be close to being made available. I believe 2013.10 came out on May 9th, so I'm guessing 2013.20 NA will likely be available sometime in the next week or so.

My Nuvi 2495 says that it has a max number of Waypoints/favorites/locations: set at 1000. Does this mean that I can only upload 1000 POI's? Is there anyway around that? I noticed a campsite file well over 1000 line items...

I have an older Garmin 760 with lifetime maps and traffic. After a software update last spring, my unit started freezing unexpectedly. Has anyone else had this same issue with Garmin software? They downgraded the software in June, which helped, but some features were lost in the downgrade.

After being forced to use Garmin's Base Camp for a few weeks now, I am really missing Map Source.

Is anyone else having trouble adapting, or is it just me?

I have a garmin 62s with sd version of city navagator. But I am fixing to. Buy a Montana 650. And sale the 62s. Can I move that sd cars to the Montana ?

After entering a first destination, it seems when I add a second destination to my 3590 it puts it first in line even when another, already entered location is nearer.

Is it possible to create new groups of poi s on my Garmins ?

Are numbers allowed in a POI .gpi file name as long as I don't use the "@" character (i.e., "POI 7-29-12"). I want to put a date tag but want to be sure the Garmin doesn't use numbers without the "@" character in the file name for some other purpose like set proximity alerts.

Nuvi 660 Presently has latest Map Update.

Presently have 150Mb free...

I wanted to ask about files that can be deleted to save space... In preparation for the next Map Update...

I want to know how i can delete some files from my nuvi 1490 so that I can get more space for new maps.

I am trying to create a route using my nuvi 3590LMT. I must be doing something wrong. I can't seem to do it. Does anyone out there has every done it, if so, can you give me some instructions on how it is done.

Leaving my home for the next city south, Garmin always tells me to take a secondary route. But, since the motherboard between my ears take priority, I go north for 4 miles and hit the Interstate. About 1/2 mile past the turnoff for that secondary route, Garmin recalcs and gives me the interstate option. Every time.

I glance at nuvi models from time to time, and on the 2455lmt, you get a whopping $1.80 discount off the list price online.

It seems like items in general are going way up in price. Ex., upgrade your cell and pay an upgrade fee, a steep price, plus a higher priced plan.

Is our paradigm starting to shift, where we used to expect that if we wait, things get cheaper, and better?

Using poi loader, loaded national parks on my sd 8g card. go to extras on my 2460 and they are there. Scroll down the list and only about 50 of 357 are there (from my home location (MD). I know the file is there but why is it only showing so few? I have the lastest poi loader.

Frustrated.... I'm thinking it's a FAT32 vs. NTFS issue...

I simply cannot backup my Garmin 660 to my W7 Laptop...

I select all and copy... go to 660 backup directory and select paste.. and it sits and stares at me...

If I attempt to copy by directory, some do, some will not copy... Hidden files are set to be seen...

I've been trying this for past year now, off and on..

Hello, I'm using MacBook Pro, installed Garmin Lifetime map updater and POI loader. My question is this, do I have to plug in my nuvi 3490 every time i check for map updates, or does Garmin Lifetime apps checks that automatically (without gps plugged in) and how often garmin releases new map updates?

I recently bought a NUVI 3590. I have installed the reststop POI, and will add more POI's soon. I am a little confused though. Can I add another POI or two by just uploading each separately, or do I need to put all the POI's in a folder and install all at the same time?
