Multiple POI's

I recently bought a NUVI 3590. I have installed the reststop POI, and will add more POI's soon. I am a little confused though. Can I add another POI or two by just uploading each separately, or do I need to put all the POI's in a folder and install all at the same time?

Thanks for some clarity.

Separately

On my 2450 I just load them individually.

i'm not certain about your unit

I'm not certain about your particular unit but POI Loader allows you to specify the name for the file written to your unit but defaults to the name of the folder that held your source file. Those are the two ways POI Loader works. If a file f the same name is already on your unit, it will be overwritten with the new information.

My Preference

I prefer to load them separately, this way when updating I can just use the one file.

As a side note, be advised the order they will appear in your Extras screen is the order you installed them.

I like to install my most used first so they will appear first and I don't have to scroll down screens to find them. If you don't like the order they are in you can just copy them all from your POI folder to a temporary folder, then delete them from the Nuvi.

Now enter them back in the order you want them to appear. When updating certain ones, they will remain in the order you loaded as long as the file name is the same, it won't use the date stamp when updating and putting it to the bottom of the list.

If you have 20 files, do you run the POI loader 20 times?

My Apologies For The Confusion

Sorry, perhaps I should have worded it better.
My point was if you wanted to have your EXISTING POI's in a certain order, just copy them to a temp folder, delete them from the Nuvi, then copy them back to the Nuvi in the order you want them. Highest priority goes first so it will appear first.

POI loader is not used at all, just use Windows Explorer.

I think I would like to try your method...But I'm still want to know how you load a csv file into your unit.

he creates multiple

He creates multiple GPI files by running Poi loader once for each file. Takes much longer to set up initially and twice as long to update as you need to run the loader, and from his description, save it to his computer and then copy the file to the unit.

Multi poi

I keep all my poi's in one folder. every time I load my GPS, I first delete what is already in there, and then I load everything fresh. 1) like this I know what is in there, and where. 2) sometimes I update something in an old file, this way the newest version is in there.

Shlomie

I keep mine in the poi

I keep mine in the poi folder too.

pois

I do like this, I have a folder on my computer maned pois and all sub-folders are inside it. If I have new ones sometimes I clean all from the gps and the sd card. After I open the poi loader and I do all at the same time.
