Nuvi 1490 delete files

Last night I updated my 1490 to Software 6.10. I followed all the on screen instructions. Then I rebooted and saw that the help files were back. I deleted all the help and all the voice languages and keyboard languages that I don't need. I also deleted all vehicles except one.
On the next reboot I saw a message that my 1490 was installing more of the update. (I don't remember the exact wording.) When I reconnected, some of the unwanted files were present again. I deleted them once more and they are now gone.
When I click TOOLS, the MY DATA is now on the first page.

Can't guess how your "My Data" got the the first page but I can guess that you used MyDashboard to update your 1490 and without your knowledge it updated the firmware to 6.10 and also all the other software it found missing.

If that's the case, it's just one more reason to use Webupdater instead of MyDashboard.

Here's the link to Webupdater which is vastly preferred by long-time Factory members here for nuvi updates over the myDashboard that you had used which retrieved unwanted files:

I agree, I use webupdater since I have no need to update Russian highway exit ramp problems etc. I want the choice to update what I want to update.
