Adding to Route 3590 LMT

After entering a first destination, it seems when I add a second destination to my 3590 it puts it first in line even when another, already entered location is nearer.

As I have to go to different locations for my job, I am constantly updating the route of my 3590 because my plans change depending on the availability of the people I am trying to contact. I looked at the manual and the forum but did not see an answer to my question.

QUESTION: is there a way to add to or enter multiple addresses and have the 3590 take your to the closest first then the next closest, etc? Thank you for any help that you may be able to offer.

Recently Found has some possibility of working if you do not mind clearing them every morning.

Do a Where To? for each of the addresses each morning after clearing those from yesterday.

Then, when you are ready to navigate, do a Where to? > Recent and you will see the recently found displayed in distance order from wherever you are ( I think, since I was doing this from my computer chair)

.

Does the 3590 support "Route Optimization"? That's what you need to do what you are asking.

To see, create a route and go through all the route creation steps until you get the "Go" screen. The press the Menu and see if you have an option for "Optimize Order".

The 3590LMT

has a Route Optimization. Has to press the 3 little bars to get to it from Trip Planner. But I don't think that will put the location starting with the closer location first. What can be done is put in the routes and do a save, do an edit and using the finger and move the locations in the order they need to be and do a save.

Or you can start by putting the location you want to be first, than the location you want to be second and so forth. That should work, but you will have to do that the 3590 will not do it for you.

My Issue

Is that I don't know which which of three or four addresses I am going is closest. If there are multiple addresses entered, the map only shows the route to the first one. I cannot look at the screen and figure out the entire route and adjust the rout accordingly by moving the trip numbers around.

I will check out the route optimization.

Yeah

Yeah, Trip Planner

Put your addresses

in Saved and do a Category, name the category what ever name you want, the gps will put the closest to you and than do a Trip Planner from the category and put them in the same order that they are in. This will work.

how to optimize destination order in trip planner?

Can you clarify what you wrote to 000658 at

re: doing a category?

I have several saved locations (stores, home addresses of friends, etc.) in my 3590, but when I add them to a Trip Planner then click optimize order, the unit does NOT route me to the closest, then second closest (and so on) locations (from where I am located at the time of the optimization) like I want it to do. Like 000658, I don't know which locations are closest, but I thought the optimize order would know since it has the addresses of all my saved locations. I don't know what you mean by "do a category". Please explain step by step.
