The Need For Research

It seems to me there are a lot of people buying GPSs that have not fully researched the topic first.

I see on here where people buy a GPS and then wonder why their's does not do what some other GPS does. And then ask if there are other GPS better at handling certain things. These thing should have been figured out long before any purchase was made. And they feel that they have been cheated because another GPS does something different or better.

I know when I am going to spend this amount of money on something I want to make sure it does what I want and can afford. I might have to make a choice between what I want and can afford but then thats my choice and have not to blame anyone else.

Every Manual, Specification Sheet and Feature is available on the Garmin site so people can see just what it will do. And also compare them to each other. And sometimes you get a little surprise to find a feature that is not documents. When I was in the mode to buy a new GPS, I went to TOM TOM site and did survey on all their units and looked at the spec sheets and manuals.

These people need to compare Garmins with other brands. Some of them have some very nice features.

After they have fully researched the GPS units by brands, features and any other criteria they want, then make a decision as to what fits your needs best and that you want to afford then buy it and be satisfied.

There is always going to be newer and better GPS coming along. That is the nature of technology and electronics. As seen with the PCs over the last 30 some years. From the 16kb Trash80 to the 8gb Mega computers of now(with all of their peripheral built in)

I amd sure when reading "HOW DID YOU FIND POI FACTORY" that these people know how to search the internet. No mater what search engin they use they would find information on all the subjects they need to make an informed decision. If they didn't understand some feature or features all they had to do was ask. If they can find this website they can also ask a question or two.

I am referring to only a few on here. Most on here seem very knowledgeable on the subject of GPS. And only need some help on the exact HOW TOs.

Well I will get off my soap box now before I get pushed off.

H - I fully agree, as there is nothing better than an educated consumer.
