Garmin talk

With all the talk about Garmin's new 2012 GPS units, there seems to be a bargain being ignored:

Garmin's Streetpilot iPhone app for $40

This runs on an iPhone, always has the latest maps (downloads as you go via the internet), has decent reviews.

Where can I get a brief description of the file structure on my 560? I am getting quite a few "memory full" errors, and I'd like to find which files I can delete.

The 560 I have is supposed to have MyTrends -- but I'm not sure I know how to use it.

I have a 3790lmt. When the traffic icon changes color letting me know the condition of traffic on my route. Do I have to touch the icon to see where the problems are, or does it suppose to show me automaically from the routing screen. When in traffic I don't have time to be touching the screen to see where all the problems are. I see a crash in the making.

I had my new Nuvi 3760t all loaded up with POIs and routes and it slipped out of my hand less than half-way through my 6,000 mile road trip. The glass is not recessed or has any protection to it, and it fell, apparantly, glass-side down.

Need some help, I downloaded the latest Garmin POI Loader and then up dated some of my POI's. The loader will not load WAV files and does not convert WAVs tp MP3s. My Garmin 1340 does not accept MP3s.
Is it possible to download the earlier version of the POI Loader and where do I go to get It?

Has anyone tinkered with or successfully modified hardware inside your Garmin?

Has anyone figured out yet how to enable voice alerts (wav files) in the Custom POI's for the 3790T?
I just get a (Garmin) "pinging" sound.

usage.

Are any of Garmin's newer models well-suited for such use?

I have a Nuvi 765T that has been working very slow for awhile and I finally got around to looking into it. It takes forever to lock on a satellite and pushing buttons has a long lag time. I looked at the firmware I have on the unit, and the GPS is 2.90 and the DSP is 2.40. At the top of the screen it says software version 4.00.

Does anyone know where I can find and buy a new ORIGINAL Garmin Battery for a model 205W? I don't know if I should trust those that are sold on Ebay. Does anyone even know what the full specs are for a this battery?

I was having a problem updating my new map for my Garmin Nuvi 205W. I would get to step 3 (installing the map) and it would stop at 14 min left. I tried to install this 4 times and the same results each time. I finally got the map to install and wanted you to know what I did to get it to install. I unplugged my USB printer and USB mouse.

I have an 855 and a 3790LMT. Doing a simulation drive, I find that the routing is different between the two. The 855 will keep me on a toll road until it let me know to exit, which is the way I want to go. The 3790LMT takes me on a toll road and exit to a frontage road and than back on to another toll road, which is not the way I want to go.

Hi , I would like to know if anyone who has the nuvi 3790 lmt has noticed a difference in what their car speedometer shows and the nuvi ,mine shows a difference of 5 to 10 klms hr for instance if my car speed is 100 klm hr the nuvi shows I am doing 110 klm,I have a 2011 Kia rondo and asked the dealership from where I bought it from if the car speedometer could be wrong they said unlikely ,and 10 k

Since as we are on the topic of differences in models I would like to ask about route planning in new models. On the 750 760 or all 700 series it seems there is the route planning feature for route optimization. Very good for people in sales. I have been looking in the manuals of some of the newer Garmin models 1300 and 1400 and I don't see the route planning functions.
