Route Planning

Since as we are on the topic of differences in models I would like to ask about route planning in new models. On the 750 760 or all 700 series it seems there is the route planning feature for route optimization. Very good for people in sales. I have been looking in the manuals of some of the newer Garmin models 1300 and 1400 and I don't see the route planning functions. Does anyone know if that option is not including anymore? Am I not searching properly?

Advanced routing.
The 14xx series has advanced routing functions like the older 7xx and 8xx units. The 13xx series does not. The newer models 1695, 2xxx, 3xxx that support saved routes use a different advanced route planning engine that Garmin calls Trip Planner.

Lilla , just looked at your tutorial re backing up the files on your device. The link to the backup process you attribute to me doesn't seem to work. It appears in the document like a link but I can't get the little hand to appear link I can to your link and e-mail address.

Re-Advance Planning
I got the 1490 and I love the route planning function. Its a bigger display than the 260W I usually use. However I find the map display a bit too small even though I use the + to zoom in. Even when I am approaching a turn on my 260W the image automatically gets bigger at the turn. Its a bit too small on the 1490. I have no problem with road names because the text is sharp. The actual roads are tiny in comparison to the size display on my 260W. Any advise in tweaking the display? Thanks

Route optimization is one
Route optimization is one feature I need desparately, right now I am going thru mapquest or planmyroute.com. I am wanting my Nuvi 360 to break, but so far no luck!
