3790LMT Traffic Icon

I have a 3790lmt. When the traffic icon changes color letting me know the condition of traffic on my route. Do I have to touch the icon to see where the problems are, or does it suppose to show me automaically from the routing screen. When in traffic I don't have time to be touching the screen to see where all the problems are. I see a crash in the making.

The Traffic Icon on the map screen is there simply to show the severity of the traffic conditions being reported. To see actual events, traffic maps, etc. you need to tab the icon on the map screen.
