Does anyone know If webupdate and poi loader are working and they compatible with window 7 Professional, I use to have windowXp . so far on the Garmin website it still show all programs avaiable are for window Xp. Please someone let me know cause I need to re-install all Garmin software again.

I tried to make a .gpi file for redlight/speeds cameras. I used Poiloader 2.7.2 and sox 14.0.1 on Win7 (x64).(.csv .bmp .wav files)
This failed. But I succeed with Poiloader 2.5.3.

My question: Why failed Poiloader 2.7.2.? (either as 2.7.0 and 2.6.x)

Has anyone figured out how to change the automatic countdown timer (when the Garmin loses external power) from the default 30 seconds to a shorter number of seconds?

I seem to recall reading a couple of years ago that someone was able to change the number of seconds. But, I can't find anything on the topic by searching around the Internet.

When I use Mapsource, I find I have to go in and re-enter my "road avoidance" routes with each new map release. Even though this only takes about 10-15 minutes, I was wondering if there is a method to have my current road avoidance routes carry over to the next map release? Such as an .INI file?

I have a Kenwood unit which uses the same maps as your Garmin 37xx.
I have the maps so that is not the issue.

In the NUVI is an SQLite directory.
The I'm told some of the files here refer to the traffic and trends features.
In my Kenwood, I have the same directory, but not the feature.
In both Nuvi and Kenwood units in the SQLite directory is a file called "system".

Could anyone help me to set an new Garmin 3590 lt to English - it is in a Scandinavian language which I do not understand.

I'm new here and I would like to know do most of you use Basecamp or something else(What else)to create routes to download to your Garmin

Lousy for map update, after downloading, processing, failed several times. When I contacted Garmin for support, they didn't even troubleshoot it. They said don't use it, use Map Update. That worked the first try....I even tried 3 pc's with Express....

I have a Garmin 250, I installed the RLC POI, and now when I turn ON, only keep turn on and when find the map turn OFF, also when I connect to PC the PC don't see the GPS, I need to see on the PC to delete the file.
Any help?

Can anyone help me convert 5 BMP's to files I could use as icons on my Garmin GPS?

I have them saved as 24x24 pixels or smaller images, but POI Loader constantly fails when installing them and their associated gpx, csv files.

So I installed 2013.40 last night and tested it this morning. I used the Garmin Map Updater program and it worked flawlessy. The map went on the SD card, and I copied the large JCV file to the JCV folder in the unit. Took about 2 1/2 hours for the whole operation.

Logged in to MyGarmin Dashboard today and received a system update.

It appeared to be very small as it completed in only a few minutes.

Anyone know what this was for? ... I couldn't find anything on the Garmin site. I didn't see anything remarkable or changed on my nuvi either.

First time I have ever needed help with my Nuvi 660 in 5yrs so I hope some one can help, I accidently loaded the same POI camp sites 3 times on to the unit via POI loader, I have tried connecting the unit to my PC and tried to remove via POI loader as it say's remove POI in a tick box, but they are still there in custom POI.

Latest maps are ready for download, however, I had problems downloading and spent most of Saturday re-trying many times to complete the download. Kept coming back to find blank screen and an error message stating the disc (Garmin) was not ejected correctly shown when reactivating the display. Eventually I resorted to setting computer and display sleep to "Never" within energy saver.

I just received my 3490 and I discovered that it has a different file structure. I run windows 8 and it shows up as if it were a drive with a nuvi and memory card sub directory/folder. The nuvi folder has the typical subfolders but I could not locate the *.gcd or map files - even with it set to display the hidden system files. Lastly, it will only be visible in Basecamp.

Perhaps I'm paranoid about backups, but I normally backup my 3590 whenever anything major changes. So, after the 2013.4 update, I attempted a full backup. When it gets to the new gmapprom.img, the GPS shuts down midway into that file backup.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but if so I can not find it.

I have Mapsource and Basecamp on my computer. Mapsource shows me as the latest 2013.1 as does Basecamp.

I have along the way updated from 2013.1 to 2013.2, 2013.3 and last night updated to 2013.4 on both my GPS's.
