System Update today - Nuvi 2555LMT

Logged in to MyGarmin Dashboard today and received a system update.

It appeared to be very small as it completed in only a few minutes.

Anyone know what this was for? ... I couldn't find anything on the Garmin site. I didn't see anything remarkable or changed on my nuvi either.

Try WebUpdater

WebUpdater will tell you what's available and gives you choices. myGarmin doesn't. I suggest using WebUpdater.

Could have been just a voice file

Could have been just a voice file for a language you do not even use. I also would recommend using WebUpdater instead so you have better control of what you download and update.

Sounds good ... I'll try it in the future.

Do you know if there is a place that summarizes previous updates and what they do/changed/improved?

WebUpdater Will Show

When you use Webupdater it will show a change log for the files available for download and indicate improvements(?).

Sounds like Another WebUpdater advantage

So I guess you're saying that there is no record if WebUpdater is not used?

Here maybe what your looking for, a changelog for every 25x5 FIRMWARE update that has been released:

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5337

There is an excellent thread on gpspassion.com that will give you this information for almost any Nuvi model:

Looks like good reading

This looks like good reading for me. Unfortunately, that also means that it will absorb my time reading it razz

Express showed an update for

Express showed an update for traffic on a 2595lmt today.

I uninstalled the updater program

MyGarmin showed me it was update to traffic receiver. I really didn't like having the updater program on my computer. It wanted to run at startup and do things whenever my gps was plugged in. That's just a little more control than I like.
