A: Why Make Subdirectories:

You want the files that you use as waypoints to show up near the top of your list. If you’re visiting places as part of your job you might want your customers, and your favourite hotels near the top. You will also have other categories located at the top for easy access.

Let’s talk about clutter. Some like it; some don't. I'm the latter.

I have several Garmin GPS models, and I want to install custom POIs on all of them. But the map display on some models looks cluttered when I load POIs with custom icons.

To Export Draw Files to Text Files
Use the following steps to export an existing draw file to a text file.

1. Turn off the Garmin.
2. Press and hold the upper left corner of the screen.
3. Click and hold down the power button.

Changing the volume of sound files

First, I suggest you create a new folder named Wavosaur on your computer. Personally, I have a folder under my root C: drive which I have named "PortableApps" (without the quotes) under which I have folders for the programs I download - in this case "Wavosaur" (without the quotes).

There are two programs which can be used to update the software on your GPS.

The advantage of using Garmin Express is that it can do all available updates including a map update with just one single click.

When using Garmin Express to update the maps of your unit, I highly recommend afterwards, safely deleting the following files in order to regain several gigabytes of loss disk space:

Questions oftentimes arise here at the POI Factory when a GPS manufacturer offers a device update to GPS models that offer automatic time zone adjustments. The questions are typically along the lines of "Why is there a new time zone map? Time zones can't be changing this often (or at all)."

For the safety of your device(s) and yours, always use the ones from Garmin, such as "AC Adapter Cable Kit" (Part Number: 010-11478-02 [for US]).

Below is a current list of known Garmin models that have Power Cradle Mounts. The models just showing a model number are all nuvi models. Models containing an "X" means the X can be any numeral.

The Powered Cradles are desired by many forum members for their ability to remove the GPS easily as well as not having stress from the device's power cable connecting to the USB port on the GPS.
