What your Garmin might display when it overheats

There seemed to be some interest on what an over heated garmin might display. Throughout the years the Sun has done its damage sitting on the dash of my wife's car. The link i had here is broken, so no pic available. The unit will shut down if it overheats sitting on the dash. It will tell you it shut down because of temperature when you turn it back on. Our unit made an awful humming sound after a while. We since replaced it. We try to take the new unit off the dash in the summer. It has shut down a few times but no lasting effects.
