TomTom has released an update to build 9.465 for the Nav2 models. (These are the older models that will let you see the files on the GPS with a file manager like Windows Explorer.)

While updating my TomTom today I was prompted that a new version of the application is available for download (the one that resides on the GPS unit, not TomTom Home). It says version 9.465.

Does anybody have any information about this update and is it recommended?

I use custom menus and wonder if it is going to mess them up.

The Google Play Store now lists the availability of the TomTom GPS app for Android. The link is at:

The app is similar in features to the existing TomTom app for iPhones - it uses downloadable maps, etc.

I am trying to load POI's on my Tom Tom but when I connect the Tom Tom device to the computer the drive is not recognized and is not listed as a drive when I click on My Computer. How do I find the drive so I can load the POI's?

So far I see 1 change. When updating your device, there are 2 warning about not disconnnecting the device until the update is completed. The first warning can be unchecked, the second one can not.

Is there a program that will convert GPX files to OV2 using a Macintosh OS 10.7.x?

I just hooked up my Start 55TM to TOMTOM Home and was notified that a new version of the map is available.

I thought I saw a post on stuttering TOMTOMs previously, but when I searched I couldn't find anything.

Is there a way to fix my Start 55TM so it doesn't stutter?

Does the number of POI files impact performance of the TOMTOM while driving? Or maybe the number of POI catagories that you selected to be displayed?

I changed the car symbol to a custom one on my new Start 55TM, and occasionally it will change back to the default symbol.

I think it happens most when I am operating from within the HOME application, but I've also noticed it when I am operating the Start from within my car.

Any thoughts?

Why is it that when I power up my TOMTOM that sometimes I hear the bongos and most of the time I don't?

I am so happy that I was able to customize my Start 55TM to be able to use itineraries!

Now I can create itineraries with Tyre and use them in my TomTom!!!

If you simply download the zip file and copy the folder in it to the root directory of your TomTom and it will mofify the default directory. You simply delete the directory or the contents if you don't like it.
