New TomTom application

While updating my TomTom today I was prompted that a new version of the application is available for download (the one that resides on the GPS unit, not TomTom Home). It says version 9.465.

Does anybody have any information about this update and is it recommended?

I use custom menus and wonder if it is going to mess them up.

Your concerns may be justified. Somebody in the TomTom forums seems to have had a problem with theirs after the 9.4 update (see here).

Old post?

It looks like that post was earlier this year in February.

But even TomTom warns that if you have SDK applications this update may mess things up.

I applied the update without impact to my custom menus

Thanks for the update. FWIW, I was going to suggest that you should back up your device before performing the update. That way, if there was a problem and you wanted your custom menus more than you wanted the latest-and-greatest firmware you could just restore that backup.
