Hi, I have been trying to download the current red light files. My mac changes to a white screen with a loading phrase in window.Just seems to hang there for minutes until I close the window. I have never had this problem with these files before,Has anyone had this happen to them other than myself?

Viewing .csv files on maps

Can anyone suggest a utility that will allow you to view .csv files on relatively detailed maps--e.g., a Google Maps interface or the like? I don't need to edit them or the like, just get a good visualization.

Apple IPad

I figured it was time to start an IPad thread. I'm excited about the possibility of my next GPS being an IPad application using the built-in GPS chip, memory, etc. As folks buy IPads, keep us updated as to what GPS app you are running and how you like it. I assume that iPad mounts and other third-party gizmos will also be available.

Onwards!

All of a sudden, POI Loader won't update csv files

I posted this a the end of the Mac User forum but realized I should have started a new thread.

I have been using POI loader and csv files for a number of years, and I wanted to update my custom POI files.

All of sudden, POI loader will not upload my csv files.

I have changed nothing on the files.

I have updated POI loader to 2.1 and my OS to 10.5 since the last time I did an update.

uploading gpx files

I have 2 gpx files that I downloaded from this site. When I try to load them to my Garmin Nuvi750 with Garmin POI loader on my Macbook w/ OS 10.5, the files show up in gray, so I can't upload them. I checked the "show all extensions" tag in Finder, and these files end in gpx. What am I doing wrong?

CSV files showing up but not .gpx

I downloaded some POI files and put them in a single folder on my Mac. I used the Garmin POI Loader to load the files onto my Nuvi 765T. The files saved as .csv appear in the Custom POI menu on the Garmin, but the .gpx files don't. Are .gpx files stored somewhere else or have I done something wrong?

Is there a GPX editor/validator for the Mac?

Creating Large POI files on a Mac

Is there a relatively easy way to produce a POI file with a large number of entries on a Mac, or if I must, for any other system? I started putting entries into POI_Organizer and using the google maps button to get the lat and longitude from the address. However the coordinates are not accurate and it's a slow process for each entry. I ended up entering the coordinates from Google earth.

Long time Mac user, here to help!

I've noticed the low number of mac posts here. For all of you looking for help, I am here and willing to step up. I am new to the site, but not new to the challenge of GPS on the Mac. If you need some help, just ask.

Saving POI Icons on a MAC

I'm new to the forum, and recently purchased a nüvi 785T. I downloaded some of the icons available at POI Factory, and following the directions saved them. I went to the POI Loader, but the .bmp icons did not load. I was wondering if there is a different procedure to save a .bmp icon to a Mac.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Garmin Voice Studio™ and the Mac...

Hi Fellow Mac users,

I See Garmin just released "Garmin Voice Studio™"
http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/ontheroad/voicestud...

This application only runs on a PC and not a Mac.

I called Garmin this morning (it took 35 minutes to get through) and couldn't get a definitive answer as to, if and/or, when this application would be available for the Macintosh operating system.

Try the new Mac Magic Mouse

The scroll ball stuck in my 3 year old Mighty Mouse and I thought I had survived 2 extra years with it anyway so I stopped at the Madison WI Apple store yesterday and picked up a new Magic Mouse. It's great. No scroll ball to get dirty and stick, easily adjustable and goes everywhere with finger movement. I really like it. It just came out several weeks ago. Check it out.

Communicator and my Mac (Safari and Firefox)

Good evening: I've checked many of the posts about communicator not working with Safari and I have done all the suggested fixes (flip4mac plugin stuff) and It still is not working. Anyone find another workaround?

I have also tried it in Firefox and it says it's loaded but an update is available. So I download it and it's the same version as was already installed. Version 2.8.2.

Geocoding Address Book entries

I can use Address Book Exporter to create delimited files from Address Book. But how do I geocode the street addresses?

I've seen the websites that will do this, and Google Earth supposedly does it, but I'm not sure the free version does. I have HoudahGeo for my photos, but need a comparable software tool for my contacts.

Wonder what this means for us Mac users?
