how do you know what version you have. does it automatically update it when you use it?

I'm confused

The POI loader that I've been using for a very long time is at Version 2.5.4.0. Diesel, are you correct when you say that Version 2.2.1 is available?

"No misfortune is so bad that whining about it won't make it worse."

Plunder...

Sounds like you're using Windows version and they're talking about POI loader for Mac (you're in Mac discussion group). The latest is version 2.2.0. I'm not sure where diesel gets 2.2.1 from.

Clearing up some confusion...

POI Loader 2.2.1 for Mac is available at Apple's App Store.
POI Loader 2.2.0 for Mac is available at the Garmin website.
POI Loader 2.6.0 for Windows is available at the Garmin website.

What's New in Version 2.2.1
Fixed readability issue with Classic Mac (CR) files.
Fixed issue where closing application from destination selection page could cause crash.
Fixed issue where user selecting cancel button on 'Select the folder to save the GPI file to' would bring user to wrong page.
Fixed issue where user selecting empty source directory and manual install mode would cause crash.
Added ability to recognize escaped quotes in csv files.
Added ability to ignore white spaces around field separating commas.
Added ability to allow quotes around latitude and longitude fields.

No Longer Available

Seems 2.2.1 is no longer available at the app store. At least I can't find it. Clicking on the app store button at Garmin's support page, returns "not available at US store".

I think

version 2.2.1 is available using the Mac App Store application which has nothing to do with Garmin's support page.

I just checked using the App Store application and indeed 2.2.1 is available.

It doesn't automatically update when you use it.

You can check the version you have in a Finder window if you have that column selected for viewing, or highlight the app in the Finder and go to File - Get Info to see the version.

I was notified by the App Store that the new Garmin POI Loader was available.

I just checked the App Store and it's there, V2.2.1

Got It!

OK, I was looking for POI Loader via iTunes. That doesn't work. I had thrown away the App Store application when I installed 10.6.6, thinking I'd never use it. Now I've reinstalled 10.6.6 (only way to get App Store application) and have found POI Loader 2.2.1 in App Store. Thanks.

Are you telling me that the link I posted above which takes you to a page where you can download the App Store application without reinstalling 10.6.6 didn't work?

As I said, I had at an earlier time deleted the app Apple App Store. In order to install POI Loader using App Store, I had to reinstall 10.6.6. I already had 10.6.6. installed, but a 10.6.6 reinstall is the only way I know to reinstall App Store. There is no download option for the app Apple App Store by itself.

Thanks. Just getting ready

Thanks. Just getting ready to download more POI's so good to know.

Thanks, Diesel.

Thanks, Diesel.
