I have noticed that, at least in my area, the Quicktrip store coordinates must be way off. Most of them, I do not get an alert at all when I drive right by them, or I only get an alert when I am actually parked in their lot. I have that file set up with the QT icon, csv file and wave file.

Intel just can’t catch a break these days. Researchers at Ohio State University have found a way to use the Spectre design flaw to break into the SGX secure environment of an Intel CPU to steal information.

Last year, we learned that eight Geek Squad employees were being paid as informants by the FBI to report child pornography when they see it on their customers’ computers. The EFF then filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit to learn more about this relationship between the FBI and Geek Squad employees.

Equifax released new information from its on-going data breach investigation, including the fact that it found another 2.4 million people who were affected by the attack.

Microsoft released a patch that delivers Intel’s microcode updates for Spectre to Windows 10 systems with certain 6th-gen (Skylake) CPUs. You should know, however, that this patch isn't as permanent a solution as patching via BIOS updates.

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Tonight I saw on ABC news about Amazon delivery (AMZL) taking pictures of delivered packages. I have seen the pictures of the package on my front porch on my last two deliveries from Amazon. I think this is a great idea.

This month’s fourth-Tuesday patches includes a bevy of bug notices and a warning to uninstall old Previews, the fourth “Monthly Channel” update this month for Office 365, and our old snooping friend KB 2952664.

Two of the most active posters last week were dobs108 and muell9k, so we’re recognizing them both!

Dobs108 has been with us for over 8 years and helps keep me update on RLC cameras in his area!

Muell9k has been with us for 9 and half and we’re so impressed with the recovery he’s made after his stroke two years ago!

I am about to buy a new phone (I am a Verizon Customer) and would like some input from my friends here on POI-Factory. I trust what you guys say. (No fake Reviews here!!) I have had a Samsung Galaxy since they came out.. The one I am now replacing is the Galaxy 5.

Stefan Kanthak, reporting on the Bugtraq mailing list, shows how Microsoft’s own security patch download links are based on HTTP, not HTTPS.

The Microsoft Update Catalog uses insecure HTTP links – not HTTPS links – on the download buttons, so patches you download from the Update Catalog are subject to all of the security problems that dog HTTP links, including man-in-the-middle attacks.
