HOV lane + inflatable passenger = ticket

Police in Arizona: "While we appreciate the festive flair [see photo], this is illegal & the driver received a citation for the HOV violation."

Dummies Can Help

Back when I was a lineman for the Bell System, we were stringing cable along a busy highway. Oncoming traffic just ignored our work area warning signs & cones and kept passing at high speed.

One of the linemen came up with a clever idea. He bought a lifelike inflatable female doll and dressed it in some racy lingerie! We propped up the doll at the start of our work area and it worked like a charm! Drivers slowed down to get a good look!

Eventually, someone complained and the cops made us remove the dummy.

Old news

This isn't the first time. What about the women that decided she was going to argue the ticket in court. She received the ticket because she was alone in the vehicle. She said she is pregnant. Judge didn't allow it.

I like Larry David's approach

He hired a working girl to ride with him, so he could get to the Dodgers game on time by using the HOV lane. He wanted her to stay in the car while he went to the game.

Then, the working girl insisted on going to the game with him.

He agrees, and the board members of the country club he's trying to get into see him with the girl.

Man that guy could write the funniest scenarios for his shows!

Reminds me of a time when I was running radar

I stopped a guy doing 42 in a 25. The first thing that he said was, ‘My wife’s having a baby and I’m trying to get her to the hospital’. I looked at the woman, and saw that she was pregnant. However, she did not appear to be in labor, so I asked them if they needed a life squad. ‘Nope, don’t need one’ was the man’s answer. To which I replied, “If you don’t need a squad, you have enough time for me to write you a citation“. Cops are not stupid!

Was pulled over 52 in a 25.

I told the officer I'm sorry I'm in such a hurry. I did think the speed limit was 40.

He told me not to mail it in guilty, to appear in court, and "we'll be lenient."

So I did. First time was snowed out. Second time they changed it to a parking ticket.

Personally, I don't see any reason not to be truthful with people.

Should be only children who deny they did something when they did. Like that case in DC where ok to speed as determined by courts since signs obstructed. imho it's not how the law was meant to be interpreted, but the high court says speed away! lol

.

Well, she kept with the season.

haha

A police officer attempts to stop a car for speeding and the guy gradually increases his speed until he's topping 100 mph.
He eventually realizes he can't escape and finally pulls over.
The cop approaches the car and says, "It's been a long day and my tour is almost over, so if you can give me a good excuse for your behavior, I'll let you go."
The guy thinks for a few seconds and then says, "My wife ran away with a cop about a week ago. I thought you might be that officer trying to give her back!"

One of the first things that I noticed when I moved to the DC area 30 years ago was that there were a couple of stop signs in the neighborhood obscured by bushes, cops were out every couple of weeks writing tickets in an "assembly line." Pretty obvious the goal was financial rather than safety. A few years ago there was a speed camera located along a major road where the speed limit dropped from 40mph to 35mph and the 35mph sign was hidden in the trees. I think it's pretty sketchy to hide traffic signs, everyone should get a fair chance to avoid a ticket.
