I was in Jordan last week on business and read an article in the local paper that said they now estimate there are 2000 people who own a PND.

The article went on to give the typical PND versus cell phone navigation pro/con debate.

Makes you realize how blessed we are as a country and makes me realize how blessed I am personally (I have two PNDs plus my cell phone!).

Hello to everyone. I am just joining and wanted to say hello and that I am a new Garmin user. Will talk more later.

I am new to the site and I am glad I found this site, lots of great information here and I hope at some point I can contribute also.

I was given a laptop with Microsoft Millennium. It does not have the M/S Office Picture Manager. Is there a freeware program that works very similar? I want to download the software to a thumbdrive & then install it on the laptop.

Cannot get Blueridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.gpx.htl to work on Garmin 3790LMT. I load it into my POIs with loader but nothing is there.

I tried opening the file (I am a Mac user) to look at it but it looks very different than my regular .cvs files.

What am I doing wrong??

We are planning on doing this trip in April and this would have been a godsend for us but??

Please help!

It's a common complaint, I hear and yes, have even lodged myself: red light cameras are ridiculous and a tool cities use just to rake in money through tickets. We like to portray ourselves as victims. After all, our driving is never the problem right?

FYI,

Paddling.net has launched a mapping project for canoe and kayak launch sites using Google Maps at http://www.paddling.net/launches/. Contributors are asked to add missing launch sites.

Does anyone know how to extract the sites from this or similar Google Maps into a GPS file of any flavor that can then be translated into other formats?

I am about to get a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem (Motorola SURFboard SB6120). My current modem, which is not DOCSIS 3.0 compatible, is connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 wired router. That router is not compatible with the speeds of 3.0.

i made sub dirs on my computer ie, truckstops, highway exits, when i run poi loader and select the main folder where the two dirs are it loads them ok but when i look at the unit where to,extras pois they are all still lumped together...im looking to do something like when you go to where to,auto services,(it gives you catagories to choose from ie rent,repair,carwash.
