Walmart File Size

I just downloaded the new Walmart GPX file. It seemed nearly 2x the size of a previous file downloaded last week.

Is it correct???
Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks.

Triple D Plus vs Diners, Drive-ins and Dives POI

Does anyone know what, if any, difference there are between these two POI files? I have been looking at them and they both seem pretty much the same, or am I missing something? TipD has a couple of extras but both are updated on a regular basis. Duplication of effort?

This week we're recognizing TXRVeR!

He maintains the very popular “Campgrounds and RV Parks Combined” file along with a collection of other files.

Slowdowns at the POI Factory

Well, it looks like the slowdowns in downloading & accessing forum topics is gone for me as of Monday.

Perhaps the whole thing was related to the Olympics & the amount of online access to the info.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad the problem has departed.

cameras

We live in a densely populated suburb. 4 1/2 yrs. ago I got into a confrontation--during a snow storm, I was parking my car on the street. Guy with two Porsches, and Audi, and a BMW said not to park across from his house if I care about my car. This came out of nowhere so I threw it in reverse and parked exactly where he told me not to.

This week we're recognizing bobinot.

Bobinot maintains several well-recognized files including Motel Six, Travelodge, Wienerschnitzel, and many more. He's been doing a great job, tending his list of files and keeping them up-to-date.

He's one of the guys who steadily maintains a bunch of POI files, and we're thankful for the work that he and others like him are sharing with our community.

Garmin: to-and-from directions

Hi,

Question for the Garmin users on this site. I don't think stating the model matters since I have seen this with different Garmin models.

When I ask for a route from A to B the Garmin takes me one way but if I reverse the route the direction are not the same. Most of the route is the same but NOT identical. Is it me or does your Garmin do the same thing?

Lookin for Palm Springs --> Laughlin, Nevada --> St George, Utah trip suggestions

Within the next two weeks, we're thinking about doing a Palm Springs --> Laughlin, Nevada --> St George, Utah road trip. Any suggestions on what to see/do along the way (for a family of four, two adults and two kids)

Usually, we let
1. Offbeat Tourist Attractions - US File + other attraction POI files
2. Various places to eat POI files
3. Local events
help us figure out what to do.

Hello folks, new here

Just wanted to say hi, got Garmin Nuvi 2495 a few days ago and starting to check out the features.

Thanks.

A brief history of GPS

It all started with Sputnik. What seemed at the time like a major defeat in the Cold War, turned out to be the catalyst for one of the most important technologies of the 20th century, and maybe the 21st.

How would one be
"Glad I Woke Up Today" or
"Didn't find my obituary in the Paper Today so enjoy the Day? wink grin laugh out loud

This week I would like to recognize MikeSid.

MikeSid helps keep me up-to-date with the southern MD speed cameras.

Recently, he went out of his way to drive by several locations that were missing speed limits to get the actual posted speed limits.

This member may not post much in the forums, but his efforts help us assist many.
