Windows XP POI editor won't open, help files open no problem have another computer with Window 7 editor opens OK I must be missing something with the XP any possible answers

Let us make sure we understand what program you are talking about. There is a POI Editor at http://www.poieditor.com/. Is that the one?
There is Extra POI Editor (written by TurboCC - one of our members) and if so, look at

We typically refer to Extra POI Editor as EPE.
Reinstall
When in doubt, reinstall the program.

My memory isn't that great but it seems like I had a problem with one of those programs not wanting to run under XP and I had to update my Microsoft .NET framework. It's worth a try.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
