In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.)
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.
catching up on paperwork.
Clovis, New Mexico to Fort Worth, then across to Los Lunas, New Mexico, and finally back to Clovis.
nothing much happening this week
GPS was helpful on excursion to Rock Creek Park (DC) for volunteer event on Saturday, plus preliminary home-hunting trip this afternoon.
GPS was helpful to navigate around Strip traffic!
Washington, DC to Locust Valley, Long Island, New York.
We have a (consolidated) election tomorrow (Nov. 5) in Santa Clara County; once again I'm working as a County election volunteer (technically, a Field Inspector).
This time I've been assigned 9 precincts in an area I've not supported before.
And it's Nuvi to the rescue! I spent yesterday driving to the different locations and establishing waypoints (I drive to them rather than doing it sitting at my computer because I want to get familiar with the area, get an idea of traffic patterns, construction, and so on).
I'm spread out over a wider area than usual, with one precinct 20 minutes away from the others (and that's with light traffic); Tuesday is going to be a long, fun day, and I'm really glad I have my nav set up! Finding my way from one precinct to another isn't something I have to worry as much about, delegated to the box on the dashboard.
helped us find two stores in town that we had never been to. Sure makes it nice!
Jill says Gal less burg. My local Sears closed recently, so we drove to Galesburg to pick up a bagger for my riding mower.
All the leaves on the block have found their way into my yard.
Another routine week. No unusual traffic issues.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights...Rounds, squares and lines!
Don't need the GPS around town but when I travel out of town, the GPS is quite helpful!
on the Western Front.
Niagara Falls, Ontario
Time for our trip to go see the kids and grand kids. A big thanks to both kids on this veterans day as well, one of whom is deployed.
On the trip down our Nuvi 3490 worked well. Even traffic data was reasonably accurate with minor delays not worth a reroute. A couple of annoying reboots on an almost 900mi journey. Wish Garmin would fix those, happens every trip.
850 miles -- between my Nuvi, and Waze on my iPhone, we managed to avoid/detour around a few messes (you can't avoid messes on the 405 in LA, other than to avoid the 405). The Valentine One radar detector was a big help as well.
I travel to LV each year and use the Nuvi to get around that mess myself. I'll be there again in January to go visit Garrmin at CES.
I hate putting the cycle away for winter storage but it's time.
Two weeks in a row, drove through the Morton Arboretum east loop with a HD dashcam. Got beautiful footage of the fall colors.
Wash. DC, for my twin grandsons' birthday. Hard to believe they are now 12.
I took a walking trip with my gps Saturday....from the glovebox of my old Ford to my kitchen (after I sold the car).
Lovely time of year in the Napa Valley. Used my gps to locate wineries I wanted to visit.
Just home watching the news.
No problems except when we were on one of the surface roads in Boston in the area where I90 east (Mass Pike) passes through underground. The Nuvi assumed we were somehow suddenly on the Pike and started routing us accordingly. No problem for me since I knew the area pretty well but would have been a real issue for some poor tourist!
Starting to plan and gather non-perishable items for Thanksgiving - worked this into the normal trips to the store for the most part.
At home this weekend.... But, got a four day weekend coming next weekend!
My weekly trip to Roanoke. I can do it with my eyes closed, but I like to watch the route unfold. I also am waiting to see how long it will take for my 2555 to recognize that the shortcut I take is 5 miles shorter, and 5 minutes quicker. It even tries to make me turn in the middle of it to go back to the original route, which is just as further from me than the end of the shortcut.
Nothing more than just around home. I guess this could be called the calm before the storm. Can't wait for my next road trip!!
Touring around the country side.
Driving from Boca Raton to Tampa.
A local coffee shop about 15 miles away where I've never been to before.
Used it to find hotel. Works well but I've got to turn those blasted 'dings' OFF.
Baltimore, MD to Nashville, TN.
Shopping trip to Grove City on Remembrance Day weekend.
Drove from Eastern Shore, MD to Atlanta, GA and returned. Nuvi 3490 spot on everywhere. Even warned of traffic problems. Thanks, Garmin.
I went off-roading in my Jeep in Northern Arizona.
drove about 2,900 miles from home to my winter home in Mexico about 4 hrs south of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific ocean side.
Mall hopping in NJ
Birthday celebration at Chez Francois Restaurant in Great Falls, VA.
Had a Thanksgiving meal early due to conflicting schedules. Will have another small one at home on the actual holiday! Travel was smooth both ways.
