Restoring previous software version on 660

I did a search and i can't find a definitive answer to my question.
My Nuvi came loaded mith software vesion 3.90.
I updated via webupdater to version 4.20, everything went good but I was wondering if there is a way to go completely back to the previous 3.90 version?
Before updating I did download to disc of all the files on my 660 so i do have a copy of the previous files.
The only thing I don't like about version 4.20 are the voices are not as strong in volume causing me to take both volume settings up to 100% at expressway sppeds.
Thanks

You can get the previous firmware versions from here.

There's not 3.90 listed so you probably will want to go with 3.80 bearing in mind that Garmin often sends out units with different firmware numbers (firmware versions that aren't released for download) to track productions. There isn't any functional difference between these.

The firmware version history lists these versions as versions that were released.

Thanks but how who one go

Thanks but how would one go about reinstalling a previous version?

Maybe

If I'm going to do it, my first trial would be to connect the device using the USB cable to a computer. Then, run the firmware executable on that computer. It should work this way. Hope this helps. Please, let's know how it will work with you. GoodLuck!!

Just go to the site I linked.

Download the firmware version you want.

Connect your GPS unit to your computer.

And run the firmware program you downloaded.

It works. I've done it on my Zumo with previous firmware.

I installed a previous firmware version

I installed a previous firmware version on my nüvi 200 without any problems.
