U-turns

I have a Garmin C330 and it works fine for what I use it for. I work for Home Delivery for Fed Ex. The one thing that annoys me most is this.......when I miss a turn,"She", thats what I call her......will have me go around the block rather than make a U-turn. Sometime a block can be 4 or 5 miles in the country here. I have U-turn enabled in the unit. Should I dis-able this, or is this just a shortcoming of the C330?

I also have found that my unit will send me to the wrong end of a road for an address. The locations seem to be scanned into the computer backwards. Not all the time, just part of the time. Anyone else have this problem?

uncheck U-turns

Uncheck the U-turns in Avoidances.

If "she" tells you to keep driving, turn around. Your not being held captive by your GPS, are you smile
Got to use the thing that God gave ya between your ears. wink

I have never had the address problem you mentioned, but I imagine if anyone would see a glitch like this it would be someone who drives as much as you do. Not sure about this part of it.

The GPSr predilection to make right-turns over left-turns? My unit is always trying to route me to my destination with a series of rights rather than a few left or u-turns thrown in for good measure ( or shorter travel ).

This is funny...

...because I have u-turn avoidance checked, and mine is still always telling to to make u-turns. There are quite a few places it seems where the NavTeq maps don't reflect gaps in center medians for left turns, so it is always telling me to go a block or 2 past, then make a u-turn and come back to the address. this happens commonly for addresses in small shopping centers. The map doesn't have the parking lot driveway or entry access, so the unit does the best it knows how to get you there.

Fortunately I have learned to use my eyes and my brain to supplement the massive intellect in my Nüvi. rolleyes
