POI Garmin Upload (Direct)

Anyone know how to use the Garmin Upload feature that is showing on this site: http://www.gps-data-team.com/gps-poi.php

It looks like it is an easier way to save the files directly to the GPS, but when I do it the system always tries to save the file with the same name. I don't even know if it works, so any info that you experts can share would be appreciated.

Thanks,

need the Communicator plugin

you need the Garmin Communicator plugin for your browser in order to send it directly - http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/

I personally dont like this method because i dont have any idea what data is being accessed or retrieved. I always do the csv method that way I can put my own icons and sound and I know my data is safe.

Still not working for me

I download the Garmin Communicator and I still can't get it to work. Tried Firefox and IE and both of them try and write the same file name to the device no matter which file I download. For example, if I first download the redlight cameras it will work, but if I then try and download a circuit city listing, it wants to overright the file. I have to imagine something is wrong. Plus, the file that I download seems to get downloaded to the device, but doesn't show up anywhere. Is there a next-step? If I download the files manually, they show up on the Extras section as Custom POI's.

Thoughts? I am at a loss here.

Try this

Read the FAQ here:

Or

You could load all of your POI files in the directory and put them in at the same time.

Why not use Garmin's POI

Why not use Garmin's POI loader ?
