i have loaded diners driveins & dives pois
loader said i loaded 290 pois, but i only see 52
tried other uploads same thing. is there a max amount of pois ?
i was able to load thru mapsource but they are in favorites not custom pois gary

OK, I just learned somthing cool within my 465T.

Once a destination has been set, you can click WHERE TO and then NEAR. Select MY CURRENT ROUTE and then go into your POI's (custom, preloaded ones, it doesn't matter)...

The device will then list the POI's along your planned route.

As a truck driver, this really makes my fuel stop planning a breeze!

How many custom POI files can you download? I think that is my question? I have a nuvi255w, I have been able to load some custom POI's to my GPS. I Loaded a Wal-mart file and was able to see it on my GPS. Then I loaded another file... Lowes.. thought I was doing things right, but when checking to see.. I no longer had my Wal-mart file.

I recently was in Gary Haymon's nuvi tricks, tips web site trying to find out why my boa doesn't show the boa symbol or boa ahead anouncement doesn't work.

I have a 765T (this is actually a replacement 7655T that Garmin sent me when I sent my other unit back in for repair due to a problem with the screen - pressing the screen and something else on the screen being selected.)

Found a great Hot Dog place and was going to post it but can't get it to show cords.. Street adress wont recognize for some reason?

Since I just bought a new Garmin Nuvifone G60, I am wondering if Garmin still offers a free DVD upon request so I can put the current maps on my PC and use MapSource?

I´m wondering if I can have 2-3 maps on 1 SD card?

I have a Garmin Nuvi 255WT and what confused me (especially when researching the unit) was that it is not listed or mentioned on Garmins website. It's like it doesn't exist. I emailed them and here's their response:

I downloaded Rest Areas but can't get the POI loader to install, I saved it in a folder, it shows up as an Excel worksheet the loader says the folder is empty

My Nuvi 255w goes into a loop occasionally where it beeps so fast it sounds like a 'gurgle' It seems to happen I think around custom POI's like cameras and announcing a turn. I updated the firmware and did a reset but it still does it occasionally. Anyone experience this and any suggestions on a fix?

What is it with the magenta backgrounds for the .bmp files? I hate it!

I've used the 255,0,255 background colors, but get the standard green backgrounds like Garmin's stuff. It makes it very hard to see.

There has to be a way to get a truly transparent .bmp. What's the solution?

Did any of you tried the voice studio? How would you assess the results? Does it work well? Worth it to spend time recording our voice to create our own text to speech?

I have the Nuvi 650. Under the navagation settings it has a choice for "Bus". I don't know how much of a difference that this makes in selecting the route, but we travel in a motorhome and I always use this setting.

My friend got the Nuvi 1300 and it does not have this option.

Do any of the current Nuvis have this option??

In 2006 I purchased a refurbished Nuvi 660 on eBay (my first GPS) and I loved it. No problems other than a few silly routing issues that just didn't make sense. Two weeks ago it was stolen from my truck. So I bought a 765t and after using it once, I boxed it up and returned it.

My Nuvi 760 will be one year old in 5 days and I'm not happy with how the battery charges, so I called today and got an RMA number from Garmin Customer Service. A very smooth procedure. The rep told me they weren't very busy now so I should get a new unit back quickly. He said because he was sending a new unit out, he would transfer my nüMaps Lifetime maps over to the new unit.

Well, a class action lawsuit concerning Speed Cameras has been filed in Maryland - FINALLY!

I read the article in today's Gazette & it sounds like it will be a long time in litigating. That must be since lawyers outnumber citizens in MD.
