Map upgrade 2010.40 does not show Junction View or 3D Landmarks on 755t

I have an interesting problem I’d like to share with you guys.

I just purchased the “lifetime map update” via Amazon. I went to my Garmin account at the Garmin website and downloaded and installed CN North America NT 2010.40.

The install went smoothly. After the map transfer to my 755t, I turned on my 755t and went to the “map info” screen. To my surprise my screens shows the following.

• CN North America NT 2009.11 3D
• CN North America NT 2009.11 All

And

• CN North America NT 2010.40

If I leave a check mark for CN North America NT 2010.40 the map looks good but I lose Junction View and 3D landmarks.

If I leave both map sets checked then I get same result.

Question: How do I get back my Junction View and 3D landmarks using the newer map set CN North America NT 2010.40?

Question: Do I need to keep the 2009.11 map on my garmin? I do have a backup on disk.

Thank you!

Hi The new European map

Hi

The new European map 2010.30, had same problem, it had to do with, the files was named wrong when copied into the Garmin unit.

This resulted in a new map called EU 2010.30b which corrected the problem.

Not sure if this is the your problem but it sounds like it.

Check in your garmin/jcv folder the name of the file in there, and check if you still got gmap3d.img file in Garmin folder.

These 2 files are the one that your unit reports missing.

this link is the support page from Garmin Denmark put into Google translation

Thank you mike42dk

Thanks mike42dk. While you tried to help. It seems that after the second re-installation of the maps, All is back to normal.

Map info shows the following:
CN North America NT 2010.40 3D
&
CN North America NT 2010.40

I guess my 755t was just a little stubborn to take the new map. After testing it out in simulator mode all is working again.
