Used this site's POI's and speed cameras for my holiday trip to Florida (returned yesterday) and didn't realise there were so many red light cameras there! The POI's were really useful as not too familiar with your roads, as you drive on the wrong side and that needed concentration, but it got me everywhere I wanted to go.

I have been wanting hard wire my nuvi 3597 in my Ford Ranger for two reasons. First reason is that the power plug (cig. lighter) on the Ford is always hot, so the nuvi doesn't shut off when I turn off the ignition. The second less important reason is to eliminate the awkward power plug and bulky cable that seems to constantly get tangled up with other stuff I carry and plug in.

What is the difference between Garmin Smartphone Link and Garmin Drive App I had installed Smartphone Link on my phone and have not bee that happy with it. When I was on the Garmin site downloading the new maps, i noted that ther is a Garmin Drive App. Does anyone know what it does and how it differs from Smartphone link. Thank you.

nuvi 68LM wants to take me on a Great Circle route from Ottawa, Ont. to Oakville area west of Toronto.

I have nuvi set to avoid highways/freeways/motorways and also toll-roads.

There a re multiple roads west and south of Ottawa that will take me in the general direction, and many choices parallel to the east-west 401.

I have always received real directions just once in a while. Today in Orlando FL. I have never seen it so active. Turn right before CVS,turn left after Walgreens and right before the seven eleven, are just a few examples. Must be more improvements by Garmin. Enjoyed the action.

When I display the weather on my DriveSmart 51LMT-S using the Smartphone app I occasionally get local weather. Most of the time I get some North Conway weather. Google maps has only one North Conway, in NH, that is ~1,800 miles from home. The GPS says that it is 30° and the Weather Service says 48° so I am doubly puzzled.

For years I've used voice alerts with a few of my POI files on my 2555LMT.

Following the recent updates, all my alerts work but with a chime only, no voice alerts.

My POI and audio file names match. SOX is in the POI Loader directory.

Has Garmin changed anything?

The wait is over. The map update is showing up on Garmin Express.

Would some kind soul be able to point me to a location for downloading the latest TTSVoiceEditor. Wikispaces seems to be closed.

I have seen some Garmin Fleet 670s for sale on Ebay. Has anybody here ever used one? It looks like they are Android based. Is there any way to add other Android apps to it? My assumption is that it would be locked down and not easy to unlock it, but who knows.

Just got a new RV780 and have 64gb Sandisk Extreme Sd card with the Custom POI loaded on it. When I turn on the RV780, and get the prompt to copy the custom POI file to the GPS, I can click on No and everything is fine. If I check the box to don't ask again, then click No, the GPS stops responding and leaves that screen showing.

anyone know if it's ok to use an old car charger from a (garmin 1450) with a drivesmart 7?

the old car charger is 5v, 1a.

i bought a used drivesmart 7 but it didn't come with a car charger so i'm using the old car charger from the garmin 1450...

seems to work so far but but just wanted to make sure..

I'm posting this in the Garmin thread since I have no idea where else he may have posted.

My Dashcam has GPS, so if I've driven a route and a program like https://dashcamviewer.com/ exports the GPS route to a file of CSV, can this be inputed into Basecamp, saved and uploaded into a Garmin DriveSmart 50LMT so that the exact route can be followed in future?
