It's out, with release notes:

Windows:

-Resolved an issue with users experiencing a blank screen for managing maps on an Edge 1030 Plus.

-Resolved an issue for users experiencing a map update failure if the device required a software update first.

-Implemented changes to help resolve Express not launching for some users.

-Minor bug fixes and improvements.

Mac:

-Fixed an issue with map updates failing for an Edge 1030 Plus when installing from the View Details page.

-Fixed some minor crashes.

-Other bug fixes and improvements.

Always keep Garmin Express running in the background

A version or two back someone reported that Garmin fixed the "Always keep Garmin Express running in the background" setting allowing it to remain off after an update. I carefully checked my 7.4.0 before and after and the update enabled that setting.

I just updated and GE and disabled the background running option.

Yeah, after every GE update the background setting is on so I turn it off. Then I update GE again and it's back on.

Finally!

Tried several times yesterday evening to update to 7.4.0 without success. The download would freeze and say that the download failed to install. Updated Windows 10 with the latest updates this morning and tried just a little while ago. This time 7.4.0 downloaded without any problem even though it seemed to take an extra long time over the past downloads. Strange!
