DriveLuxe 51 software update ver 6.70

I brought my DriveLuxe 51 in the house today to update the POI files and noticed that it had an alert for a software update. I let the update proceed and it installed software version 6.70. That was kind of a surprise for this old of a device.

May 12, 2022. Change log for DriveLuxe 51.
Changes made from version 6.60 to 6.70:
Added support for a new digital traffic provider in Germany.
Improved software stability.

Thanks

It's there for mine, too. It can be done through Garmin Express or direct Wi-fi update.

I wonder if the "Improves software stability" (other than the two German updates) is related to the random reboots the DriveLuxe 51 is known for.

Updates went well. Now I need to decide if I should bring the nuvi 3597 back from the car and use the DriveLuxe. Seeing if the random reboots is fixed could take a good month or more of regular usage. This is a good time to test it since the summer temps are high, especially on sunny days, so if the reboots are related to overheating and not software, this is the time to test for it.

Random reboots?

I haven't had an issue with random reboots on the DriveLuxe. But then, since covid, I haven't taken any long trips. I do use it all the time for short trips though.

I haven't used my 51 in a few months. I'll have to dig it out and do the update.

I have had a couple of random reboots in the past. Maybe the update will cure that as well.

Thanks again for the tip.
