Hi, I am here to ask you (members of this site) where can I find a replacement screen for Garmin 2595 LMT.
The screen is cracked and I would like to find a palace to order or send for repair at affordable price.
I appreciate your input.
Thank you

Options For Screen Replacement
The link member jjc715 provided in the above post is a reliable GPS repair shop located in Pennsylvania. Jim the owner is a member of this forum as well as others. He has many satisfied customers and has given some good honest and free suggestions to people on the forums.

Be advised Nuvi’s have two screens, the outer one is the touchscreen and an inner one that is the LCD panel.
Hopefully it's only the touchscreen that is damaged, depending on the severity on how the crack occurred.
If you want to repair yourself, the replacement panels are available on Ebay mostly from sellers in China, I'm not a fan of purchasing from China should a problem with the item occur. I am quite proficient in repairing things, but it's not an easy repair and I myself wouldn't attempt it.
Ebay Links:

Depending on the price quote you receive it may more economical sense to buy a Garmin Factory Refurbished Unit. These units always come looking like a brand new one and include a 1 year guarantee.
The link below offers one at 109.00 with free shipping.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

You are right. I prefer to buy from within North America.
In my searches I concluded the same thing, it is almost the same price to fix as for the repair.
I am going to see if I contact any of the links and make my mind.

Nuvi 25xx LCD Display.
Thanks for the support & references. We do service the 25xx series.
The displays are quite thin and if you attempt to replace this yourself, I would be very careful inserting the display back into the front bezel, because if it is twisted or if you apply pressure unevenly, you can easily crack the LCD.
Be VERY careful unlatching and latching the LCD flex cable. If you break it, it is GAME OVER and you will have a very expensive desk paperweight.
The displays used in the 14xx and 25xx series are the same part number. The digitizers are the same too. There are (2) manufacturers for this display and they appear to be interchangeable.
If you have a cracked LCD display on a Nuvi 37xx, I would strongly suggest not to attempt to repair this yourself.
The reason is because the LCD display is cemented into the front bezel and you will spend hours trying to chip away the epoxy only to find that the replacement LCD is also cemented into a the front half of a new case. I learned this the hard way by not looking at the replacement part first. Working on a new model for the first time is always an educational experience!
You also have to take the entire unit apart, remove the boards, unlatch the flex cables, etc. just to reach the back of the display. It is quite labor intensive. The displays are very expensive and given the amount of labor and costs in return shipping, we currently are not able to compete with the Nuvi 37xx factory repair price.

I like to have it fixed.
I have a garmin 2595 and I would like to fix it, but when I went to sharcnet I did not know what could be the final price to have the unit fixed. I am in Canada and some companies don`t ship nor fix units from Canada.
I would like to be fixed, but if you see all the price for the fix and shipping some times it is better to buy another one.
You are right it is complicated to fix and sometimes is better give the job to someone who knows how to fix. I am going to fill out the information and see if it can be fixed economically.
Thank you.

I'm not sure which page was viewed but the price for the 25xx LCD replacement is listed and further down is the price of return shipping to Canada. Submitting a quote request will work too.

This info
I found it but I don`t know if is this REPLACE-LCD-Nuvi 25xx - 5.0" LCD / Touchscreen / Glass Replacement (installed) - $69.00 USD + Shipping or
this: REPLACE-TCH-Nuvi 25xx - 5.0" Touchscreen / Glass Replacement - $49.00 USD + Shipping.
If it is to repair there is no customs clearance fee I don`t know.
I know the glass is broken, it has black spots and lines up and down of different colours.I can see the map and I can move the map.
Nuvi 25xx
Ok, if the glass is cracked and the unit will not accept any touch commands but the picture/graphics below the cracked glass are OK, then you would just need the touchscreen & glass. The LCD is OK.
The touchscreen is bonded to the glass, so even if the glass isn't cracked but the touchscreen won't respond, you would still have to replace both touchscreen & glass because they are all one piece.
If there is any distortion in the graphics/picture such as lines, splotches, spots, color defects, etc. then the LCD is defective and needs to be replaced. A new LCD will contain both the LCD and touchscreen & glass, this is why it is more expensive.
As far as customs fees, no, there will be no fee if you specify on the customs form that the unit is being sent out for repair and then will be returning to the originating country. Customs fees are charged when you buy something out of the country but not if the item is yours originally and just being sent out for repair and then returning.
Whether to insure the item is up to you. I can tell you that we have been shipping items back to Canada for 7 years with US First Class mail and no insurance and have never had to file a claim for damaged or missing/lost items.

Thank you
I will consider sending it for repair. For what I can see would be USD $70.00 + USD $11.00 for shipping. I will see.
Can you tell me how long it can take to have the unit repaired and shipped back?
Nuvi 25xx
What I have always thought was interesting, was if you have (2) units, one that is a lower-end model, such as a 2555 and a higher-end model such as a 2595 and both have a bad LCD or speaker, the price to repair the higher-end model will be higher, even though both models use the same parts.
It is because each model will have to be replaced with a refurbished model that is the same as the unit being sent in.
So, whether it is a speaker failure or LCD failure, you are still paying the flat rate, regardless if one repair is actually cheaper than the other.

Turn-around is typically within week. I just looked up a unit that was shipped to BC Canada on 2/21. It arrived through customs and was delivered on 2/25.

I just like to know the final price. I know I have to fill out the repair service information. For what I can see should be: USD $70.00 + USD $11.00 for shipping. It is my understanding. If you are changing for a refurbished must have LMT also.

I was referring to the factory. We actually repair and return the same unit to the customer. Rounding the numbers up, you are correct.

Might be cheaper to buy a new one.

Consider this
I broke a screen on my old 1490 3 years ago. I shopped out a used unit for less than the cost to replace the broken screen. I swapped screens and the unit has worked fine ever since.
Heres a link to a used 2595 on eBay for $70 plus $5 shipping:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Garmin-Nuvi-2595LMT-GPS-no-mount-inc...
The unit is missing the mount but otherwise appears to be in good shape.
As muell9k pointed out, factory refurbs are available for <$110 so it really depends on how much you want to spend.
Cheap GPS
To be honest guys, GPS's are so cheap now that it's not even worth fixing. If it was me, I'd just buy a new one.

Jim,
I don't know if you web site is down or some other problem, but I am unable to get a repair request form to come up. Could you send me a form or another way to get a repair done? I have a Garmin Nuvi 2589LMT with a cracked screen.
Thanks, Charley

XX = All Models

When you see XX after the Nuvi series model it means all models within that series.
The x means it can be any number
25XX = All Models
25X9 = 2539, 2559 2589 (ending in 9)
25X7 = 2557, 2577, 2597 (ending in 7)
25X5 = 2555, 2595 (ending in 5)
Looking at the 25XX series it shows all models have a 5" screen so the digitizer should fit all models including your 2589. To be sure confirm with the seller through email that it will fit your 2589.

Nuvi 2589
There is a difference in the case style between a Nuvi 2555, 2595 and the 2589.
On the 2555 and 2595, once you remove the rear screws, the front plastic bezel with LCD & touchscreen will separate from the rear case using a prying tool.
See front view of 2555 or 2595:
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/310518251556-0-1/s-l1000.jpg
On the 2589, there is a front adhesive bezel, just like you would find on a smart phone.
I'm not sure if the two models use the same touchscreen, although touchscreens can be easily rewired. There are only (4) electrical lines, (2) for vertical (up/dwn) and (2) for horizonal (left/right). They can be rewired to make them work on most any unit as long as the screen size is the same.
I received a 2589 with a broken glass & digitizer and decided it wasn't worth the risk of possibly damaging it futher, not knowing whether the front adhesive bezel needed to be removed and replaced and where to find one. I guess if I owned a broken one, I would have investigated into it further. I just may do that.

There is a model (3790) where the LCD, touchscreen and glass are glued with epoxy into the front bezel. I had to replace the whole front bezel with a new one that also had the LCD, touchscreen & glass glued into it as well. I could not find just the replacement LCD, touchscreen & glass.... although I had chipped away the epoxy and was able to remove the defective LCD.
