Does anyone know the largest sd card the 7200 will take.
I believe I read somewhere it is 2 gig. That's not very big, wondering if anyone has tried a larger one.

Maximum Size of SD Card
I know that some use a 16GB card in their nuvi series even though Garmin states that 8GB is the maximum size unfortunately I'm not sure if the same would work with your model.

I'm almost 100% positive it won't work and he'll be limited to 2GB. So I would consider purchasing a new unit that includes lifetime maps if having the while map is important.

4 GB Worked for Me
I used a 4 GB SD card in a 7200 I owned a few years ago. For what it's worth, the unit recognized the card but I never tried storing more than 2 GB of data.
It's not so much the card
It's not so much the card that's the problem, but the fact the map itself is larger than 2GB.

According to Garmin (in the FAQ,"What is the largest size Secure Digital (SD) card that an automotive device can accept?") the limit is 2G.

The latest map I got is just barely under 2g. So the map does work. If the next update is over 2g then guess I will try 4g card. If that doesnt work looks like new GPS. I really like the 7200 nice big display great for traveling. If I just got the lower 48 states that may be a smaller file.
