Ok.. stupid question time.

I've a 3597.

When it powers up, it connects to my cell phone via blue tooth.

In the top right corner of the 3597, there used to be the little Garmin link symbol, and in the top left corner of the Garmin was an image of the phone.

I was just checking out my Nuvi 2797LM when I pulled out the SD Card and noticed its only a 2g card. Do I need anything bigger.

My 780 RV is only showing white flags for the Custom POI locations. It use to show the associated icon (BMP). Not sure when it changed. It doesn't matter how close I zoom in, it is always the white flag.

Search Google and POI Factory, but could not find anything to help.I also reloaded the files with POI Loader.

BTW, my 770 RV still shows the associated BMP files.

Forgive me if i am in the wrong place but does the Garmin Drive Smart 76 power supply have a fuse. If so how do you open it...thanks Stan

I have a nuvi 1300 that works fine in every aspect of it being a GPS navigator.

The problem is it doesn't get along with Windows 10 Pro x64. It shows up as a USB Mass Storage device in the safely remove list. Disk Management shows the internal memory as an unallocated drive and the SD card as not initialized.

Garmin Express and the web updater cannot detect it.

but my GE is showing all my devices can be upgraded to Time Zone map version 32.00. The details are "Updated DST data for Mexico and Greenland."

In July 2022 you folks helped me get a custom POI (rest areas) with a proximity sound file alert installed on my Garmin XT. I have since turned off voice navigation because it was too intrusive to helmet-to-helmet communication. I'm sure this has killed the playing of the alert file.

New ver of 7.16.3.0 ready (says contains critical updates).

I recently updated my POIs and Red lights and speed traps but when I tried to transfer them from the computer to the GPS, it said unexpected error and would not complete the transfer. This was on my 2797. I tried 5 times..same result. HOWEVER, I did the same transfer from my computer to my DRIVESMART 65, it succeeded in transferring the files. How can this be? Ive changed nothing on my 2797.

One can edit Garmin themes. Is there anyway to edit the built in icons? There are a ton of icons to use but they are all too large. Some way to make them smaller.. or add something simple like a small colored circle to locate my home.. instead of some huge (green) house.

I installed an update for traffic language translations now every time I turn on my drive smart 50 unit it asks to restart for an update.

to notice that Garmin now displays Red and Yellow lines on the roads indication slow and stopped traffic? Like Google and Wand Waze does?

At C:\Users\jwint\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid\express.exe_Url_44vgoklnmwzol3f5bx0zhrwgflwejvvx I find 59 folders present, all around 1.6 KB in size and dates as far back as 3 years (when computer was purchased). Is this just another case of Garmin Express not doing well cleaning up after itself? Can most of these folders be deleted?

I have the Nuvi 2797LM , I keep this update, I went on a road trip this weekend and I was getting wrong directions and some places. I was going to Delaware on North I-95 when the gps was giving me directions to downtown Washington DC, which was out of my way, there was some traffic on the road but not that much.

Just downloaded new update.
I also noticed that one says 2024.10 America Canada & mexico and the other says America 2024.10 all US do I need both ?

Stables Lane was the street that led to the entrance of Stable Park. It no longer is and stops at a fence at the park boundary. Garmin doesn’t know about this and uses it in some routes. You don’t want to use it.

The solution is to use the “Custom Avoidances” setting to keep it out of any route.

For those that want/need the Large JCV File. Again, Garmin has split the large JCV file into two files, D9673020A.JCV (750.8 MB) and D9674020A.JCV. (77.8MB) Both files are inside a folder named "JCV".
