then you might want to consider NOT updating GE to the recently released version, 7.18.0.0. Many people over on the Garmin Forum site report having issues after doing the update.
If you are using Win 7.
I tried to on Win 7 ,lost it completly.So i worked at it and finally got the previous version back and stopped there.No more updates,why is it so hard to include Win7 when there are so many using it?

Because Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, meaning no updates of any kind. It would make perfect sense for Garmin to stop supporting Windows 7, assuming this was deliberate.
I don't think this is deliberate. Nevertheless, this should serve as a wakeup call for those still rocking an unsupported OS.

On the Garmin forums, a possible remedy for Win 7 issues
Go to https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mac-windows-software... then scroll down to the input by LpDevRun. The first line reads "Possible fix for 7.18.0.0 version on Win7 Pro x64."
One thing about the modification of a file, I suggest you copy and paste as needed, and then check carefully for the proper content.

2015 ThinkPad had a free upgrade to 10. I declined it.
The reason is I have car mfg. software on this laptop which does not run on 10.
My 2021 ThinkPad had a free upgrade to 11. I took it.
When I say upgrade, since these are business computers, it's the pro version of each OS.
