Garmin talk

Is there a secret to getting the mount attached to the arm of the window holder? I have pushed, pulled and everything and can't get it to attach. I can't get the ball of the arm to insert into the mount on the Nuvi. Nothing in the book tells you how to do this. I know it must be a simple step I am missing. I love the unit but want to attach it to my windshield but can't. Thanks.

So I finally got to use my Nuvi 350 on the highway. It was doing good (we were supposed to reach our destination at 5:30 pm), but we took a shortcut which was not on the map. After we got to the part where the GPS knew where we were, it changed the ETA to 9:01 am!!!

How long does it take to charge Nuvi 350? I charged it about 12 hours and the charge lightning bolt on the battery sign did not go away. Isn't supposed to go away when it is charged? Or is 12 hours! not enough for first time charge?

Okay so I wanted to see if there were any Best Buys in Durham, NC and I know that there were, but didn't know exactly where. Well, I asked the nuvi to find best buy stores in Durham (not my current location), and it pointed out all Best Buy stores from Georgia to New Jersey, but I did NOT find ONE in Durham or Raliegh. Whats up with that?

I just got a new Garmin c580 and am having a hard time getting the MSN to get a good reception. I can be in a location and it gives me all three bars and then later the same day the same location gets me no bars. Anyone seen this issue?

I have one of the new Nuvi 680's with the MSN service. I've been trying to buy an extra MSN cable (makes it easier for me swapping the 680 from car to car to motorcycle). So far I haven't been able to find anyone that has these - including Garmin. Anyone have any ideas?

I am awaiting the delivery of my first ever Nuvi - I have several questions. My biggest is - if you set it up to go to a location and you stop (remove it) and then put it back - does it continue to direct you?

I am interested in how Garmin calculates arrival time (ETA). I have a nuvi 350 and recently took a trip of about 300 miles with all kinds of roads. There was some interstate, city streets with stoplights, state highways with stoplights, and state highways with curves (max 40 mph). I traveled as close to the posted speed limit as possible for the whole trip.

Just tried to register my sp7200 and relized I do not have the "gold Card" and I only have map version 7 any ideas on how I can still register my unit?

Dear GARMIN people, recently I had the chance to see the c550 Streetpilot on action. In fact I was very interested to get one but reading the OWNERS' MANUAL I didn't get any info about WHAT SHOULD I DO

Followed directions for downloading "POI Loader," but it doesn't seem to work. That is, I get no "help" or "prompts." Must be doing something wrong. Can't get it to process a "POI" to load into my c330.

Any suggestions? I was able to download it (apparently) but not use it.

I have a Garmin c340. Does the beanbag mounting gizmo by Garmin really work? I read somewhere that it won't work until you buy another gizmo. Anybody has experience with it? I don't want to waste >$30.oo for some useless thing. Can someone point me to a cheaper source?

I reported 6 issues with missing roads, wrong locations of POI, etc in my area back in Dec. 2006. How long does it take before you hear back from them about some kind of resolution. I check on the issues from time to time and it still says they are "open". Has anyone reported a problem with some kind of reply? How long does it usually take?

Since this question wasn't answered, here it is again:

One more question regarding the preloaded maps, since all I know is the c320 with the maps loaded onto an SD card. When updated maps come out and I update them on the nuvi do they get overwritten on the internal memory, or will it not allow that and I would then need to put them on an SD card?

i have a garmin legend and a friend told me about a great application that makes the gps a range finder on the golf course. i contacted GOLFLOGIX and asked if i could download the softwear and the quickly said no,, i have not tried it yet but was wounder if anyone has,,, thank you

I'm relatively new to GPS with a 2-month old Nuvi 680.

Is it possible to "mark" a location once you have arrived to a destination that you did not you the GPS to get to?

I have a Garmin 330. I found this site thru garmin and was wondering how many of these POI's can i actually download before my Garmin is full? Is there a size limit to this thing? Am i damaging it any way by adding these? Does it slow down the preformance of the GPS? These are some of my questions i would like to know the answers to before i start downloading like crazy!
