Nuvi 350 vs TomTom One

I just bought a Nuvi 350. My son just bought a TomTom One at significantly less cost. The major difference between the two is that the Nuvi has TTS while the TomTom does not. But the TomTom software seems siginificantly better. The two features it has that I'd kill for are: 1) multiple waypoints; 2) selectively changing the calculated route.

Why can't the Nuvi provide software that is as good as devices that are significantly less expensive?

Comment? Opinions?

I was debating between the Garmin and TOMTOM as well, but I went with Garmin because Garmin uses Navteq and TOMTOM uses TeleAtlas (the mapping companies). Navteq are supposed to be more accurate or something like that. Also Garmin's customer supports is supposed to be much better.

Garmin's Customer Service Hard to Beat

I think you'll find experiences with Garmin's Customer Service has been very good. See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3737 and http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2413.

Garmin and TomTom

I have a Nuvi 350 and 660, and had an HP Travel Assistant with TomTom Navigator 6 software.

I favor Garmin because:
I insist on turn by turn announcement of freeway exit numbers and street names.(Although I believe the Garmin 200 and low end TomTom's have this feature disabled)

I find the POI loader and customization software more closely meet my requirements.

My customer experience with Garmin was superior - with Tom Tom - ineffective.
