Garmin talk

After reading all the positive remarks over this mount and against my inner feelings that this thing looks pretty ugly I went ahead and ordered one when Dell had the super price of $26 with free shipping.

Reading between the lines of earlier posts, and after communicating with Garmin and getting advice there, it appears that the extra voices I added to my unit cannot be deleted.

I re-installed one of them, hoping an "uninstall" utility would appear, but it didn't.

I wanted to make a bit more room for some poi files, but I do have the two I really wanted: red lights and combined rest areas.

Yesterday my Garmin 680 was working fine. I set my location, it took me there. I turned it off, got out of the car and transacted my business. When I got back in the care and turned on the GPS it displaced a map of my current location and kept displaying acquiring satellite. As I drove, it kept displaying the original location and continued to show acquiring satellite.

It seems that Garmin (FANTASTIC customer support) does read posts in the Factory so I wonder if Miss POI would allow us to use this as a place to post what we would like to see "upgraded" or "changed" by Garmin.

Does anyone have an easy way to deep six 3.00 and go back to 2.90...after a week I am less than happy about the alleged upgrade. I had one hang up during recalculation where the machine just froze (never did that before) and it seems my start up times are getting longer.

Where can I buy the users namual for the 650?
Can't download it online.

Hi newbie to GPS

Have a couple of questions possibly some of them are stupid.
However will never know if i dont ask.

Is there a garmin nuvi 260 manual anywhere most of it is pretty straight forward but be nice to see any hidden stuff i dont know of as yet.

I just transferred poi files to my 650 using the poi loader but nothing shows up on my unit

I have a garmin 550c. Is there a way to activate the traffic alert without having to register with garmin?

I downloaded 1700 POIs to the 750 but only about 50+ can be displayed/selected on the 750. The manual says go to tools settings proximity points but that option does not exist. How can I access all of the POIs?

Is there an easy way to update the Currancy Converter in the 660?

Interesting though strange. I have a c330 and c530 both are great at what they do best. That is guiding you to various locations. In planning a trip from Northern Virginia (I-81 corridor) to Bainbridge Georgia. I put the destination in the 330 and got the mileage and saved the trip. My wife likes to look at a map so I entered both directions into mapsource as waypoints.

Simple question, can a Nuvi be charged from a computer's USB?

I am looking for information on editing the builtin POI Database on my Garmin c340.

I know you can upload your own POI's but that isn't what I am looking to do.

What I want is to maintain my own database of POI's. I want to update it as new restaruants, stores open. I want to delete POI's from the 6 million that are of no interst to me.

I found a soft-sided electronics case last night at Cabela's that a 200W fit inside perfectly...

Probably for a PDA, but it works. It cost right around $10.

The code inside the case is PC3610-048-005 "Digital Assistant"...not sure if that is the item number or not...found it in the camping section.

I cannot get the 'Weather Advisory Warning' icon (Cloud w/ 3 lightning bolts) that is present on the map screen just below the + sign on the right side of the display to go away. I have a good MSN Direct reception 99% of the time. When I touch the icon, it says 'no data found' and when I exit that screen, the icon stays visible??? I've tried reseting my Nuvi 680 but the icon still is present?

Is it possible to get a nuvi 260 to display the exit numbers on the interstate as you approach them instead of just showing the names of the streets that intersect with the interstate at the exit ramps?

i have nuvi 200. the problem i'm having is i can't get a satelite signal and i keep gettin a screen saying up dating firmware. after the update it still doesn't get a signal. i have the 3.60ver does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Im still with this issue. Can someone tell me how to activate the male voice in the Garmin Nuvi 200. It only let me change it to another language. It doesn't have an option for male or female. Help Please
