Two things I would like to see

Just took a long trip with my new nuvi 350. Two things I would love to see added: some kind of pause button when using a route. If I stop for gas or food or bathroom this thing will U-turn me to death. I know I turned off the route just let me get some gas... sounds like a back seat driver. The other would be gas mileage checker. Couple of button pushes and add the gallons of gas and you now know you don’t have enough money for the rest of the trip. 3.19 a gallon hurts. Anyway a little food for thought.

have found the best way to pause the GPSr

I have found the best way to pause the GPSr in those situations is to slide the power switch to lock. That silences my nüvi 200.

I would love

to have a pause button on my C330. I also hate it when I pull into a gas station and I hear "recalculating" about 15 times.

Not doing anything worth a darn.

Hit stop

And then where to, recently found and select again.

I, on the other hand will not tolerate the GPS taking over the car, I just do not use it for anything else but view map, and dare it to correct me no matter where I am going.

Fact/

On the 350, just a quick

On the 350, just a quick push on the power button will bring up the volume screen. Just select "mute" ( and done) will quiet the little boy down. When finished with your side-excursion, push the power button and select "UnMute" to bring back the voices.

having more alternate routes

having more alternate routes options.

I would like a way to create

I would like a way to create POI's and maps that even i can understand.

What I would like to see

I have a Nuvi 660

List faster search. Was out one day Christmas shopping just for the heck wanted to find a Toys R Us in the area. So I used "Spell Name" search. By the time it was finished searching I could have found a toy store near by.

More search categories for places like above Toy stores. There was another but I can not rememeber what it was.

I prefer the lock switch to the mute

I prefer the lock switch to the mute to temporarily shut the GPSr up, especially if it is going on a recalc or u-turn rant. It only requires one press, rather than 3 or 4 for mute.

I agree

Switching it to "Mute" is the quickest way I have been using it too..especially when I take separate route than what my nuvi 660 has calculated for.

It does get annoying when it tells me to take U turn on every passing single street intersection. Eventually it catches up to my correct route and then hit unmute.

Two things: First when you

Two things: First when you hit mute it still redraws the route and changes everything around if I could just hit a pause or wait button something to stop it until I get back under way. Second on my Nuvi 350 when I hit the lock mode it keeps talking to me, the screen locks but not the nagging. I checked that again today. Keeps right on u-turning me.

That's odd.

That's odd. On the nüvi 200 the lock switch silences it and locks the screen. You'd think something like that would be standard across the nüvi line.

The more I read the more I

The more I read the more I realize that they are far from the same. Even the same model #'s are different.

Just put the GPS antenna

Just put the GPS antenna down and problem solved unless you have model without the changing position antenna.

For the antenna on the 350

For the antenna on the 350 to come down you have to take it off the mount.

Why not just hit Stop?

I just hit stop and when I'm ready to get back on the route again, I tell it to go to the destination and it calculates and off we go. No complaints. It's not like it's going to make you go back to the beginning all over again, after all.

Volume down

My C530 has a handy thumb wheel on the outside of the housing, one quick thumb motion can turn off the sound.

I turn the unit off just as

I turn the unit off just as I am pulling off the road into the gas station and turn it off just as I pull back into traffic. The first time I stopped for gas using the nuvi 200, it recalculated the route 5 times before I stopped at the pump.
