Here is an unconfirmed post from another forum concerning Garmin's nuMaps program:

Sometimes my GPS asks if I want to simulate a trip. This occurs when the satellite is not connected. I would like to know if a simulated trip takes as long as a real drive. For exmple, if my destination is 30 minutes away, will the simulation take 30 minutes?

Is there a way to set your GPS to account for traveling across times zone when the actual event occurs? While traveling across time zones my GPS did not notice the change of time zone until we were about 34-45 minutes into our travel in the other time zone.

I bought a sd card today for my Garmin 350. I put my pictures and mp3's on the card and they work fine. I used the poi loader to put my custom poi's on the card also. My Garmin would not recognize my custom poi's. I copied them from the card to the Garmin poi subdirectory and they worked fine. Why do you think it would not recognize them on the sd card? Thanks

I have the TMC cable now, but the free subscription expires in a couple weeks. For $25 more, I'll give MSN Traffic a try for a year. And I end up with an extra car charger out of the deal for $25.

Best Buy has an electronics trade in program. Select your product and they give you a trade-in estimate. It offered $107 for my Nuvi 350 and $187 for my 760. I'm sure I could do better than that, but it was interesting.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350. I store pictures, mp3's and custom POI's. Does anyone know how much space I have available to store all this. I have 33,000 POI's and 10 large megapixel photos. Am I getting close to filling it up. What is the total capacity or how do I find out? Thanks

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350. I set-up the McDonalds custom poi from this site. I named the data csv file, the icon and the sound alert all the same name. I used poi downloader and used the manual process to put this in my Nuvi 350. I set-up an alert for 400 ft. The custom poi is in my Nuvi and a McDonalds next to work is on the spreadsheet.

I bought my 760 about 5 months ago and didnt use the free 3 month traffic reciever yet. Is it good from the time I first use it or the time i registered my garmin?

I just downloaded the firmware version 4.60 for my Nuvi 660 from Garmin website. I haven't installed it yet. Is there anyone that has installed this version? Did you experience any hiccups? Anything I should avoid or watch out for? Any noticeable improvement from the newer version?

I usually run the nuvi 660 on battery power, but it only lasts about 1 hour. Seems like if I plug it in, the screen dims. That's with the ac or dc adapter. Is that the way it's supposed to be?? Thx.

I was at my local CostCo the other day and they had NUVI 83T displayed. They had a super wide screen size of 4.8 inches. The best part is the price of $249. I don't know what the specs are, but it looked like a nice unit. Good got old eyes. I even considered upgrading.

the American_Jack TTS has problems with direction announcements if there is a Number in the hwy. eg Hwy 316 east
the voice seems to break up and sounds chopped up into missing and partial words.
i tried it on I85 north going to hwy 316 East in Atlanta, Ga.
We need this fixed

Is there a way on the 660 to test my Traffic Receiver without going out on the road ?

I got my Garmin about 3 weeks ago and I am learning a lot of information in this forum. However, I have to ask numerous questions. Where can I go to also learn more about POI's and what the pre-loaded Garmin POI's will and will not do. Also, I am concerned that I am not taking advantage of the best POI's. I wish there was a listing of the Top 20 used.

Here is the deal. I initially got a nuvi 200 free from applying for a discover card. I returned the 200 to amazon for $150 store credit knowing that I wanted a better model. After watching the 660 increase from $299 to $315 I held off ordering hoping the price would come back down.

I loaded the custom poi for rest areas combined that I found on Poifactory. However, when I select custom pois and find a rest area then view the map it appears I have i icon on top of another. Did my Navteq map that came with my Garmin already have the rest areas loaded? If so, should I delete my custom poi but keep the voice notification? What is going on?

I have a Nuvi 760 and have uploaded some photos but they don't seem to fill the screen when I press Full Screen. Does anyone know what size or dimension the jpg file should be? The sample photos worked good but I deleted them.
